@barelfly both adults in the household had rough days so we went ahead with the Weller FP / Old Emmer CS blind taste test. Well, mine was blind, my wife’s wasn’t, because the kids don’t pour bourbon very well.

Results: Weller FP unanimously. The Old Emmer was on the hotter side, and oakier. I knew which was which. As always the Weller was a caramel bomb.

Still enjoyed the Old Emmer, it has a unique flavor. I wonder what the Weller emmer wheat is like.

 

dammit now I want a FP weller

 

They had Stagg, ETL, Blantons Gold, Blantons, EHTSiB, and EHTSB too.
Stagg and ETL were gone before she got there.

All on the shelf.

You should check the one near Total Wine on Arden tomorrow if they didn't get anything today.

Well, now you have me thinking about buying the regular Old Emmer I saw both today, I may have to get it.

But, glad you enjoyed the OECS. Would have felt bad suggesting it. It does have some heat - I had a small pour last night. Maybe a little ice cube? did you try it straight up?

I”ll get into my FP bottle at some point. I’m not buying them to look at or sell, so perhaps over christmas I’ll do up a few nice pours for my dad and!

 

Wasn’t going to go into TW today…but I did and was able to pick these two favorites up! Adds a few backups now!

Thanks for that. I needed to go there soon, now I have motivation to go tomorrow. I'll swing by BevMo as well. I've never had good luck at that Costco, but you never know.

 

Have you had it before? I bought one years ago and kept the bottle. Since my other half moved in 2 of my interesting (empty) bottles have disappeared. That one and a Willet Pot Still. I think she liked them so much she appropriated and relocated them.
