Hahaha. So i just googled that thinking, if you see it at MSRP? Pfffftt…. Why the hell would a celebrity whiskey not be at MSRP? Ohhhh. It’s Buffalo Trace…. Hahaha. Good luck finding it. 90 proof blend. It’s probably pretty much BT.. but I’ll agree if I see a bottle at MSRP I’ll pick one up too.

It actually contains 0% buffalo Trace….sazerac decided to take Barton stock and blend it with a Canadian wiskey. Must have shipped it to BT and had Harlan do the blend. This is a great example of hooey fooey in the marketing game.

with that said, I bought 4 bottles so far, mostly gifts to big Stapleton fans and I do love me some cheap low proof stuff for summer time.

Good to know. Wasn't sure of the exact provenance but knew it was coming out of Sazerac shop.

I've got no opinion on the stuff of course, but I'd just say I'll be surprised if it's notable at all beyond the branding.

What I find frustrating is that neither the back of the bottle nor the website describe the origin of the contents.

On the other hand, you won’t see anything about Chris Stapleton or Buffalo Trace on the front side of the bottle, so I have trouble getting too upset about marketing hooey…

Oh heck no. What I meant is I assumed getting any of those bottles was a pipe dream (at a reasonable price). This is my first.

    Paid $125…

First time cracking one of my own Staggs.

This is batch 23C, which at 125.9 proof is on the low end of the Stagg range.

This one is incredibly thick and creamy and has the nice fruit flavor of a Four Roses OESV. But over the top of a caramelly flan. A very, very nice bottle.

Over the past 8 months or so, I’ve been able to pick up four of these bottles at MSRP. The 12yr, ol @MattJakobs hooked me up with a trade. Now, I only need the CYPB, which I don’t know if I’ve ever seen at a shop. So I know it’s gonna be a challenge but now I’m really on the lookout.

If anyone has a beat on a CYPB, let me know. I know I may have to turn to the auction to get that if I want it quick but I’m not in a hurry. Heck, maybe the CYPB will come through the Total Wine auction later in the year. And, I won’t be selling these either, so if you do happen to have a CYPB, it will be consumed by me and friends. The first pours from these bottles when I complete the collection will be for a blind taste just to see which of them I like best.

Anyhow, was excited to pick the 12yr this weekend. Thanks again Matt!

    The dilemma.

I have a 4RLE and Cellar Aged and I know I'll never see either vintage again and I'm not sure how I want to drink them. I *will*, but probably only on special occasions over the course of years.

I would feel the same way about any BTAC I got ahold of, regardless of price.

Maybe a little GTS and Coke while I watch the game?

It will be a long ass time before I open that MMCA because it was the inaugural bottle. Of everything I have it’ll be the most difficult for me to crack. I could open the 4RLE right now with no qualms. I mean who cares about a 135th anniversary anyway? Is that a thing?

Nice score man! I had two GTS and a ER17 that I was sitting on. Brought them to my best friends wedding to enjoy with everyone. Some dbag stole them from the bar and never got to even taste one.

One of my buddies "friends" from the Aspen area. Pretty lame, but still managed to have a good time at least.

Last call of the day today I got stuck in a flooded crawlspace from burst pipe's repairing some old lady's furnace. It was single digits down there. Needed a good pour to recoup. IMG_0126.jpg
