I’ve heard good things, price of entry was cheap so why not. Twelve more days to go for a pour. Cheers.

A couple of rear window decals...
I went hunting today, stopped at seven different stores. Five of them were stores I hadn't been to before, and I didn't buy a single thing.:( I did see a whole lot of over priced bourbon, but not a single bottle of Antique 107.:pout:There were a few bottles of Weller 12, and a couple of full proof, one each of the CYPB and Single Barrel. Nothing for less than $200, the CYPB was the first bottle I've personally seen around here and they only wanted $700 for it.:jerkoff: I found two bottles of 1792 Sweet Wheat and a BIB, both were $100, Stagg Jr for $259. There was a Hillrock for $125, that was the closest I came to purchasing anything and still over priced but the only bottle that wasn't at least twice MSRP. Next closest was a bottle of SB Jim Beam for $60. I like where I live, but the bourbon market here sucks ass!:annoyed:

Is it a blue cap or black cap?

Edit: I've seen the blue cap around here, but no black caps. All of the reviews I've seen claim the black cap tastes better. I suppose I should just go a head and buy a blue top as it's unlikely I'll ever find the black top around here.

I was just having this conversation with friends, when they hit they are phenomenal, but it’s like 50/50 with the single barrel. At least in my experience. The small batch is just always damn good

black caps were the product of brown Forman, they sold the label to sazerac and the remaining barrels they had, blue caps are the new sazerac product…apparently they can’t blend for shit because it’s not even close to the BF product. It’s been 3 years since the sale so you won’t find any black caps unless you’re in some remote part of the country.

The blue cap, it was the last one on the shelf. I’ll keep an eye out for that black cap.

There's some good ones on the list for sure. I'm interested that Nashville Barrel Co and Uncle Nearest made the list. My best friend is coming to visit next month, and we're planning to do some distillery tours, both of those are only an hour from my place. So I think they'll top the list of places we'll go.

Rare Breed is excellent. Do NOT buy any Wilderness Trail rye. It’s awful. The wheated is fantastic though.

I've never had the black top. Still think the blue top is a great buy for the price, especially since it comes in the Liter bottle.

Some underrated, others just not chased because of better, widely available options at the price point.

Agreed. Availability is a huge challenge around my area at least. Frustrating enough that I’ll just try new unrated, unknown bottles cause they’re just sitting on the shelf.

Thanks so much for your generosity @MattJakobs and @EnBoo! The Western Reserve bottle may be the prettiest one I’ve seen so far.

I was looking on their distributor website, they have an 18 year rum finished rye, and a 20 year oloroso finished rye. Would be cool to try those.

I was ass deep in finished shit before January...I can say of what I've tried, I agree that those two are the most appealing.

Maybe High West just fucked it up but the Dram's port finish is insanely overpowering. High n Wicked Jury is 14y Dickel finished in Madeira casks. It's better than the Dram, but you definitely need to be in the mood for it and I'll only be checking in with it sparingly.

MK voyage, the rum finished Master's Keep, was a *banger*. I've only had Oloroso finish in Scotch and Irish whiskey, but I've liked what I've had in those categories.

This bottle has really aged well down to the heel.
