Favorite Whiskey?

Got this in a local trade today for a Weller 12 and $75. Pretty exited!

 

Will be on a work trip in San Diego in March. Couple of us who like bourbon are researching some local joints, come upon the Whiskey House. Heck of a menu but the prices are out of control.

Any recommendations from the SoCal crowd for whiskey bars and promising liquor stores?

Dick Liquor is also close by and has a good selection as well.

 

Me too.

 

Weller black is my favorite. Everyday go-to is Woodford.

 

We can rule out Keg and Bottle.

I never said that they were cheap. The have liquor floor to ceiling that they access with library style ladders.

 

Dick Liquor?? Ahahaha. That’s has to be the best name I’ve heard in a very long time.

it is actually Dick’s Liquor, but I don’t know anybody that actually calls it that.



You can visit Beaver Liquor in Flagstaff, AZ the next time you visit. Actually Beaver Street Liquor.

 

Any word on either of these Redwoods? Haven’t seen them here before. I’ve had the Pipe Dream and thought it was pretty decent.


Brought these 2 bottle home to try. Was pretty surprised to see the Traveller. Wasn’t looking for it but figured I’d give it a try since it was available. Never had anything Yellowstone.

 

I have a Devil's Tower but have not yet cracked it (dry Jan).

The Foggy Burl I passed on. American Single Malts are peasant garbage in a world where Scotch, Irish, and Japanese whisky exist.

 

I've been trying to kill open bottles all January. I'm really struggling to get this glass down. It reminds me of Willett Still Pot, which for me is not a good thing. I remember why I put it in the back corner of the whiskey shelf.

 

That sound's like a bottle for a guest you don't like to much, and if they like send it home with them...

 

Crazy. I always see Rowan’s Creek and Noah’s Mill next to each other in stores. I’m a big fan of Noah’s Mill but have never tried Rowan’s due to mixed reviews. Cheers.

 

Seems to be a love or hate bottle. I’ve heard people rave about it and I’ve heard the same number of people call it a drain pour. I’ve never had it but tbh with the reviews I’ve heard i probably never will.

I really enjoy this bottle but 100% true, people love it or hate it.
