Favorite Whiskey?

This was gifted to me a couple years ago and I have yet to try it.

 

Any of these worth picking up at what in my opinion is on the higher end of cost? The cigar cut intrigues me.

 

Picked up this 10yr tonight. Pretty excited about it. Side note I’m drinking a nice glass of that Fable and Folley man I love it.

 

We said we weren't doing V Day gifts but I guess she felt guilty after I sent her a card at work that explodes confetti in your face. Never had WhistlePig before. It's pretty good! It seems it has a high corn mashbill which makes sense with the flavor. Sweet yet punchy.

 

Always thought WP was a Rye…. But I’ve only had the older ones.

 

Apparently they have a bourbon now. Not that familiar with WP.

 

what's the report... i am intrigued by reviews of this single malt

 

I was in a lottery and the wife got this for V Day for me. She might be worth keeping around!

Had you had either of the Peerless High Rye or the OE Cigar Cut? If you had to pick one which would you? Also on the list of choices in this scenario is another Bookers for $104.

 

Finally! A Weller FP that was outrageously priced and New Riff has made it down here. Last bottle of that I found was in Tennessee lol

 

I havent cracked my cigar cut yet. I have a Peerless High Rye open.

The PHR is good, but not $150 good.

 

If you wanted a FP that was outrageously over priced I would have sold you one lol. How outrageously over priced did it need to be?

 

Tried Stagg for the first time tonight. Was at a new local steakhouse and they had it. $31 for a neat pour. Little high but I've never seen a bottle before. It was really good although a bit hot given the proof. Makes a great sipper. Buying a bottle would make sense at close to SRP. But 3rd party prices doesn't make sense to me. For $60, I can get JD barrel proof. Same proof as the Stagg. For $50 I can get the excellent Heaven Hill BiB.

 

Stagg is 2-3 times better than JDSBBS, in my opinion. It’s such a delicious pour.

 

what about $130 good? Peerless is typically priced high no matter what right? In the $120 range?

 

Ha, most places around here are asking $300+ for Weller FP & 12. CYPB & Single Barrel are like $700 or more

But, sometimes I get lucky at the bigger stores like this time, paid $120. Will never see “rare” BT products for msrp in GA/SC

 

Don't get my wrong, it was really good. But $200-$300 good? Not to me.
