Regarding Buffalo Trace....
Yep! I picked up a bottle at Winn-Dixie near me...none on the shelf, but asked at the counter and they pulled one out from UNDER THE COUNTER! They sold one to me... but they hold them for regular customers.
Oh btw... this is a great magazine for those that still like hard copy stuff. My mother-in-law has been a subscriber for years and on one of our visits, I picked up one of the issues off her coffee table and really enjoyed it. I told her how much I liked it...and what did she do? Like any GOOD m-i-l, she made a mental note and got me a subscription for Christmas.
I highly recommend, especially for those of us in the Southeast.

 

There’s not much I’d pay more than $100 for. The vast majority of hard to find bourbons aren’t worth their secondary price. But anyway I like Stagg a whole lot. I have a George T now and I suspect it’ll spoil me.

It's Old Fashioned time in this house tonight.

 

Any of you gentleman ever come across one of these? Same price as regular BT, wanted a fresh bottle to bring to the cabin for the weekend. I didn't notice the sticker till we got up here and cracked it.

 

Yeah I've got a couple the local county ABCs have done.

Oddly, on the shipping manifest it was listed as "Buffalo Trace Bottled in Bond" and I got all excited about it being proofed up until it became very clear that was some kind of error in the inventory system.

 

At the lake house for the weekend…so Old Fashioneds with this big ol bottle of Sazerac I found at the local grocer…and a sipper of Woodford as I made tri tip and Santa Maria beans. Lovin’ the lake life this weekend!

What lake? My in laws used to have a lake house. Boy do I miss that place every summer.

The local ABC let me take a barrel they were using for display, which is from a local distillery. I’m giving the staves and bottom to a local smokehouse, going to sand and shellac the top and hang as wall decor in my study.
