A beautiful spring day today - went to lunch with my wife and decided to come home and sit out by the fire. Enjoyed this Old Fashioned with WT101 Rye, then gave EC18 another try. Found with an ice chip it was much to my liking. Makes me feel much better about the bottle!

I discovered 10th Street Distillery a few years ago and have picked up a few bottles here and there. The California Coast is by far, one of my favorites. It's a nice easy drinking whisky. It's a blend. I find that it tastes pretty good with a bit of grapefruit rubbed on the rim of the glass. Or an orange morning bun. They offer peated whiskies as well. Those are definitely peated. I also like the STR or aged in a Shaved, Toasted, and Recharred casks.

Other favorites include Stranahans Diamond Peak, Whistle Pig and a few others.

    Great thread.

Hung out with some good neighborhood friends tonight and killed a Baker’s 7. Also passed around the A107 which everyone enjoyed.

I think I spent $109 on this, somewhere around there. I wasn't impressed with the neck pour, but the more this opened up the better it got. It's pretty darn good. At the 101 proof and price point I don't think I'll get another though. IMG_0552.jpg

Today would have been my grandma's 94th bday. She was an Ancient Age drinker who listened to Marty Robbins. Don't have any AA, but I think she would approve.

And yes, I've been blaring Gunfighter Ballads since about 5pm. Iykyk

Cheers. Big Iron is one of my favorites. Your grandma had good taste!

Also I got that same letter (B) Blanton’s today on my way home. Only bought it because I didn’t have that letter yet lol.

    Grandma would be proud!

Not bourbon, but…drinks almost like a Manhattan in a way. But made a Martinez to sip on while I was making dinner tonight. Then finished off this excellent KC12 in the OF glass from after dinner. Almost finished the KC last night….but…yeah that probably would have made the morning foggy and didn’t want that!

Haha grandma was the best! 30 years ago we we're hitting up Walmart and Raleys hunting for matchbox cars, now I'm hitting up the same stores looking for bourbon listening to the same old ass country music. Go figure :D

Yes sir!!! Another bottle down. I don’t think I’ve ever had this many bottle kills in a week. More room on the shelves for new acquisitions. Cheers.
