At the most unlikely of all ABC stores. Probably the most exciting bottles they’ve had in five years.

That's still a wee bit pricey for my wallet. I haven't seen a bottle for less than $249 in person.

That's interesting, how does the Aspen affect the flavor?

My other go to is wild turkey or buffalo trace, I'd put it in between those two of smell and task. The Aspen adds a unique smoothness, maybe vanilla like taste.

They're a couple other CO whiskies that also use Aspen, hogback has one, a bit cheaper, but not as aromatic or flavorful.

It’s a bit different than batch 22. A little more traditional whiskey flavor, than the usual sweet grape notes from Buffalo Trace products. It’s sweet mid palate, but has the proof burn up front and on the back end. I had a second pour with a cube and liked it better than neat.

Watching the current game, UConn-Purdue is gonna be a blowout. If NC State made their layups they’d be winning.

yea I’m still not paying it either but I just get angry with shops charging more than secondary value, takes 10 seconds to look up bottle values. It’s just greed. Sometimes you are willing to spend more than what it’s worth but damn.

for future reference check out this site https://www.bourboneur.com/bourbonbluebook

if you’re okay with spending the average price, and your shop won’t budge, just go get it on secondary market
