Favorite Whiskey?

What I’ve found with finished stuff is you either really like them or you hate them all. I have not enjoyed any of the following:
MWND
Angel’s Envy
Starlight Cigar (amburana)
Something oloroso cask finished I once had
Something sherry cask finished I once had
Joseph Magnus Cigar Blend

I am a classic bourbon flavor kinda guy.

 

I generally don't like anything finished, and agree with everything you listed that I've tried. I really don't like port wine finished anythiny, especially Angels Envy. I do however like the Seagrass offerings from Barrell, a lot.

 

Aren’t those more rum finished?

 

Rum, Madeira and Brandy.

 

I’ll break out a sample and tell you here shortly.

 

I bet you won't like the the basic seagrass, but the 16 year hides the finishing well. The base is very in your face finished.

 

The 16 is the one I have a sample of luckily. Actually I might have both.

 

These seem to be hit and miss with people liking them. I really enjoy mine. Cheers.

 

As always, at what price? It's excellent bourbon IMO.

 

I went back on my way home from work. It was gone. I believe it was $179.

 

I would pay that in a heartbeat. Control state here and they let it go for 200 a bottle.

Well, there sure can be.

 

The prospect of a wedding in Vegas when you're 19, in the military, and the first stripper that says "tri-care", it's a done deal. Get that Sazerac!

 

Have only had the regular Seagrass so far, I like it. Sweet and smooth for such high proof.

(Shockingly it has a nice apricot note)

 

What's your go to camping concoction? Heading out for an overnighter with the fam tomorrow. Usually just do beers but want to try out some mixers this time

 

Pre-mixed spirit forward cocktails.
Manhattans, old fashioneds. Pop them in the cooler and fill as necessary
