Corkscrew it and pull it out.

 

Wasn’t even that hard. Used the sharp point of a knife and pried it out.

 

I once had the wood part come right off the cork on a new bottle Buffalo Trace. No problem...I just got it out with a corkscrew and put the cork in it from the bottle I had just finished.

 

The QC ended up tasting incredible. All of my favorite things from their 10 year with a bit more of a refined taste I guess. The wife says it smells worse though fwiw haha.

 

OF Rye - very meh, underwhelming
Willett 4yr Rye - damn good, actually may actually call it delicious. well worth the addmission price of ~$45

 

Give Michters a try. I like it more than Willet.

 

I love when I go into a spot that I'm expecting little to nothing and then get blown away by there list! Often times the prices are good too.

 

The wife started me an Infinity bottle. I dug these 4 bottles out of the recycle bin so I can keep a record of what all is mixed in it.
The decanter was delivered (Amazon) Wednesday. I think she done quite well.

 

I should do an infinity bottle but I have the habit of drinking the last pour from the bottle. May give me an excuse to buy a decanter as well.

 

Thoughts on the job or the bottle? Congo rats on the new position, hopefully a raise paid for that bottle (so it's basically free, right?!)

 

An Infinity bottle is what gave me a reason for a decanter. I like most of the original bottles too much to pour a bottle into one.
Plus as I empty out the old bottles and thin the herd. The wife hopefully won't see the new bottles appearing.

Empty -> Replace -> Repeat

 

Is the Willett Pot Still difficult to find, total wine near me had 2 but I didn’t feel like spending $77? First time ive seen it there but ive never really have looked for it

 

Raise definitely paid for the bottle. It honestly might be my favorite scotch I’ve had to date.

 

Just booked my trip to Loretto to pick up my barrel bottles.

this evening drink is Cask Strength MM. Still haven't cracked open the Hibiki. Im afraid it will disappear...

 

I grew up in Kentucky and Tennessee so the home town guys have a special place in my heart but I have been working on my first bottle of Woodford Reserve for the last month or so and I'm digging it.

 

If you looke a few pages back you'll see some discussion. Basically some of us get a dill pickle taste, some stronger than others. I get a lot of pickle juice flavor and really really don't like it. Some don't and do like it. Up toyou to take the gamble!

 

Hibiki is one of my favorites right now... I've been alternating between that and MM Private Select! What are the barrel bottles you speak of?

 

Pickle juice? That doesn’t sound appealing. After i got home I started searching online reviews and the common theme was, if you see it buy it. It was weighing on me, called the store and they had a bottle left. Went back and grabbed it. Not sure when ill open it
