Well I decided it was time to try a pour of my infinity bottle, it's actually quite enjoyable. I think tomorrow I'll make an old fashioned with it. By my nerdy notes, it's about 94 proof. Happy Sunday!

That's very cool! I'm working on a number of my own custom blends next week to see what they turn out like. Just waiting on the aging spirals to come in.

I know some folks have said that McKenna is inconsistent barrel to barrel...but I got a great bottle, and I dig it.

That double oaked is one of the best deals out there. I'm all about really interesting craft distillers, it's my main focus when I buy...but sometimes, I just want something that is soft on the pallet, reasonably priced, and delivers the same flavor consistently. The prices have been coming down on it here locally which is great. About $65 is the lowest I've seen it. My first bottle I paid $85

I am one of those guys. I've had a few really good bottles, and some that were just not good. When they were under $40 a bottle it was worth the risk, but at $65+ I find the risk too high.

Some more spectacular gouging from the same group of liquor stores here in Longmont:

I dropped by the store today to see what they had. It truly amazes me what they can get people to pay for some of this stuff.

    IMG_5181.jpg IMG_5183.jpg

I ended bringing home a EC B524 for $80. I like the regular EC 94P, so I figured it was about time to find out what the BP is like.

The Buffalo Trace stuff is definitely high, but that's a good price for the 1792 BIB. I enjoy that bottle, especially the store picks.

Idk if any of those prices are really out of sight…. I’ve seen EHT small batch for $150, Blantons for $150, the small BT is probably just MSRP, BiB is a steal, I mean everything is 25-50% more than it was 4 years ago.. I’m not offended by those prices.

The 1792 was at a fair price, it was also available down the idle with the rest of the normal offerings. I think they put it in the allocated cabinet just fill space.

I am somewhat offended. At another smaller store a few miles a few miles from this one, in the last 18 months I bought ER for $40, EHT for $50, and Blanton's for $90. They also required you buy another 750ml bottle to buy any of those. I personally will likely never buy another Blanton's, and certainly not for over $60. I know there are other places that have it worse than I do, but I think the prices I posted were bad and the other prices you listed are atrocious. I do believe in capitalism, so those A-holes can price gouge for whatever they think they can get. However, I feel bad for those people who have to put up with such blatant greed. I paid $80 for the ECBP, which was probably $10 over MSRP and I had thought about waiting until I was back in FL to pick one up for MSRP. But I tried that with the C923 last year and they were all gone by the time I got there. Then when I got back home they all gone here too. So I bit the bullet on this one. I do like ER and EHT, but I think there are other options as good or better then over paying for most any either of those.

I've heard mixed reviews about Starlight, and I gotta say I'm not impressed. It's very young and reminds me a lot of Garrison Brothers small batch, just sweeter. It's just not worth the price. IMG_1285.jpg

Yeah idk, prices aren’t as bad as they could be. My EHT BP was at MSRP, and really unless it was a bottle i was chasing that’s all I’d ever pay. That said, plenty of people out there that would be happy to pay those prices. You can either have MSRP and no availability or high prices and no bottles for purchase. Idk. I guess we can complain about markups but at MSRP and no bottles isn’t really any better.

First day back from a seven day Alaska cruise. I drank all of the Buffalo Trace my heart desired. I switched it up with WT 101 and 1792 small batch. I enjoyed offending the spuds at the whiskey/ bourbon bar on the ship lol. Cheers
