Now that is a fine, fine bottle. Renew your vows, cuz you aren't gonna find many fine wives that are gonna track something that good down!

I just take my time, but it’s important to go from low to high proof. Other way around, you’ll burn out your palate for the low proof stuff.

How do you know what batch it is?? Is it on the bottle somewhere? I didn't see a batch number.

It’s like older Stagg Jrs, the proofs are different on each batch and that’s the only identifier on the label. There’s probably a laser code on the bottle as well, with the year.

Okay, low expectations for the 1792 SiB and it was quite good, definitely enjoyed it. Significantly better than the BIB SP I got recently

The only thing in their lineup I didn’t enjoy was the 12 year, which was just kind of bland. I’ve never had the small batch though.

I try to mention this when a store does a tasting but they never listen or want to crack those lower proof labels.... I wish we had a store that would do tastings on request instead of promoting a store pick.

I don’t mind going right into a high proof at all if tasting only one or multiple high proofs. But if it’s a flight with both low and high proof, the high proofs gotta come last. It’s exactly like a cheese tasting, the smelliest and most pungent gotta come last. If you try them first the mild ones will be tasteless.

I really like Bardstown black label. Great craft flavors for $55. I wish they would release a midway price point barrel proof around $75
