I tried this Total Wine store pick. It is a bit young up front, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla. Some corn notes, very mellow finish with some lingering honey. Really, it’s not bad at all for $55. @121 proof, it drinks like 100.

OK, last taste for the night. 119 proof, it’s supposedly all the rage on review channels. I tasted it last week, and hated it. To be fair, I had another Glenn tonight to make sure.

Upfront, raw proof, astringent, forced aging, young, gross. On the pallet, pure bandaids, and bicycle tube rubber. Finish is like paint thinner, with old muddy pond water.

I’m going to give this to the homeless guy down the road who always has a funny sign (pic below)

Just ran through a small sample of each. The Amburana stave need to be pulled in about 4 hours or it’s overwhelming. Man it’s good. MWD-Damn The one with the cherry wood staves and Vikings Blod is amazing!!

Glad I just got a small bottle of this one. Not my favorite, but I won’t be pouring it down the drain either.

Mt Sneffels, a 14er, in the background. From the deck of the place we are staying at outside of Ridgeway.
