Favorite Whiskey?

How many of you use decanters in your bars?

My mother offered to let me have a few of theirs, that aren’t being used anymore.

 

Just the BiB, but I’d be interested to find the wheated bourbon. There regular BiB is pretty good stuff.

 

I don't know how to tell, but a lot of older decanters were lead crystal. You definitely want to avoid lead crystal decanters.

 

I was just referring to the Grain to Glass ones, my bad.

 

Got my first bottle of Blanton’s and it’s Straight From The Barrel! Got lucky for once and was drawn #2 in a local lottery. No clue when it might get opened.

The other 2 bottles were just a pleasant surprise on the shelf.

1792 BiB is good so far.

Nice. What proof on the SFTB?

 

One of my local places has a Blanton's Straight From the Barrel on his shelf. It is dusty and he wants $300 for it. At that price, I will just look at it each time i stop by and probably never get to enjoy drinking it.

North Carolina has had an absolute avalanche of 1792 products this year. Seen everything but the sweet wheat.

 

They’ll be released this month. NC has codes for them but no stock yet.

 

Chocolatey. 10 toasted French Oak staves as the finishing profile. At least as good as more than one private select I paid the same price for. That said, I wouldn't shed tears if you don't manage to get ahold of one.
