We sampled it last night but tonight its officially my birthday and I will be passing some glasses out as we sit around watching fireworks. It even has a short hard cover Sinatra book. Super lucky to land in our neighborhood 17 years ago!

What was your favorite??? Right now it’s a toss up between the Blue corn, and the Rye. I’m working my up the single malts to try to learn how to like the

 

The Baby Blue was my favorite from my flight. Had a nice buttery taste. The Tres Hombres packs a punch at 65.5%, and is more spicy. I would buy a Tres Hombres, ZZ Top thing, because it is only available here, but IMO not worth the $110 asking price.



I am headed to Garrison Bros tomorrow and Still Austin on Sunday.

Howdy all, not sure how prices are with Virginia ABC stores? Retail, or marked up? Headed through Warrenton through to Front Royal next week. Anyone have recommendations for a store that is better stocked? Looking for variety. DC liquor stores are redonkulous

 

Virginia is another control state. In this case distribution, prices and stores, just like NC. Everything is retail price. You will find very little variety but you have a better chance of finding something interesting in more populated areas. You can call any of these stores as you’re driving and see if they have any allocated (or are willing to tell you). In my experience most clerks are happy to tell you and if there’s anything left over from a drop they’ll give you a list.

 

I didn’t buy anything from Balcones but did find this on the walk back to the hotel. Haven’t seen it in CA yet so I am dying to try it when I get home.

 

This is a really good bottle! Great score.

 

I really like this one! When I first tried it, it wasn't to my liking. Let it sit for a while, revisited it, and man oh man! I also did a 75% Kosher Wheat, 25% Eagle Rare, and really liked it!
