kinda tough to see everything since the shelves are 4 deep. I keep about 2 dozen bottles open downstairs that see more common use. There’s definitely a few up there open too though. EC18, KC18, JD10 & 12, Blanton’s, Angels Envy, hmmmm. I have a Blanton’s open down here too lol I’d better get working on that.

Packcon, what do you see that’s over rated? Besides the Old Rip, Lot B and Pappy 15 of course!

 

Haha The Pappy to me is over rated. Not a fan of anything Makers. I don’t like any Weller just because I don’t like Wheated Bourbon. But that wouldnt stop me from adding bottles to my shelves.
I like the Baker 7 but its not worth more than $50 a bottle.

But if money was no object Id like to have all those.

 

Ahhhh see I love wheaters! Hence all the Weller and Makers! Even if you don’t like MM if you get a chance to tour that distillery it’s my favorite!

That Bakers has been around for a few years and I only bought it because it was 9 years old and if I remember right priced fairly. Again it was a few years ago…

 

How do you like the Russell 13?

Its great. Lucky find. I walked in to a random store and there was two at $5 BELOW MSRP. Obviously I bough them both!

 

Russels 13, Elijah Craig 18, JD 10 & 12, CYPB are all bottles that I am actively hunting. I have access locally to all of them, but for crazy prices.

All of the VanWinkles are above my pay grade. Dreams for sure, but will never likely happen. I have had Pappy a few times over the years and enjoyed it. I just can’t justify the price. I would rather buy myself a new 8” jointer for woodworking than spend it on two of those bottles. I am not judging you or anyone else in any way, I just have a woodworking hobby/obsession that brings me happiness as well. I have to balance both on an elementary school teacher’s salary.

 

Hmmmm well I paid MSRP for all the bottles you mentioned except CYPB and Pappys…. You can’t see it but on the top shelf there is a Taylor Full Proof. That was always one of my personal unicorns too…

 

Nice! Where are you located? I would have them all as well, if I could find them at MSRP. Costco? Or some other place / connection? No I did not see that EHT but it would be on my list as well I, in Central CA, only have one or two small stores in my area that does not mark stuff stupidly high. Neither of them has a large selection, I know what days they get their deliveries and hit them on those days each week. Sometimes they have good stuff, mostly Buffalo Trace allocated, other times I strike out. Other members on here have also been gracious enough to help me get my hands on a few things as well.

Thursday is a typically a night off if sipping for me, but I am planning on cracking two new hard to get bottles, for me anyway, tomorrow after work.

Upstate NY. Not exactly a bourbon paradise but I have very good relationships with a few stores and that CYPB came from an awesome guy on here!

 

I have family in Albany and the Buffalo area. Perhaps I should have them start hunting for me!!

Like you - I’m hunting the CYPB - it’s the only Weller bottle i need to complete the collection…….

I have a EC18, it’s open though…haven’t had much of it, as I keep those bottles in the back out of site.
