Wild Turkey barrel entry proof has gone from 107 to 110 to 115 at various points in the past, which then affects the final proof of Rare Breed, which is a blend of 3 different age groups.

Higher barrel entry proof generally leads to higher batch proof, so that would give us another clue as to the "era" and thus the date range.

It is very good IMO. I don’t think that it is necessarily worth what I had to pay, but a very solid pour.

I feel your pain. Loosing a pet is really tough. Playing rope with my crazy dog as I type this.

amazing...thanks!!! i did "sample" it and i liked it quite a bit... proof i am unsure but i can check.. it was a barrel proof bottle...
Finally got back to the lounge and took some more pics or the rare breed and the other ones…let me know if there are any must tries here, please….. I have had some of them but not all….

EDIT: trying the old forester now and not nearly as good (to me) as the rare breed….the rye seems more predominant but I do tend to favor barrel strength “bourbon”

Get into that Stagg. Balls deep. Bring a DD.

The 116 proof Rare Breed indicates the bottle was post 2006, when WT went to 115 Barrel Entry Proof.

Along with the other label clues, definitely early 2010s, probably 2011 or 12.

That Russell's 13 is soooo damn good. Had a few bottles. Also had the single rickhouse, which I really loved despite wanting to hate it, given how much they charged for it.

But Booker's is always my standby favorite. Even that's gotten stupid expensive.
