All the Blanton's I've bought came in a box, except the last one I bought a few days ago. It came in some weird black net.

The Oban 14 is my current favorite. I've read the distillers edition is good, but maybe not worth the cost difference? What say you?

Here it's Only in a green plastic mesh...never seen a box. And I got the BLANTONS thru purchase, with a few doubles to boot

Payed retail... have to look at the receipt but right around $60. My cousin asked me to keep an eye out so she’ll get one or both of these... I don’t really like blantons to much but can never find EC BP, w12, rhf, Elmer T, stagg jr, etc so I’ve been trying to trade a few bottles here and there.

My "local" favorite, although I know it's not distilled locally. Just bottled and branded as such.

    @TRD-ED made me do it...

Stopped by the local Kroger Wine and Spirits for my usual pre-Friday opening ritual (along with a few other dudes). Kroger gets stock on Wednesday and Friday but I can't do Wednesday mornings. Last week they got in a case of Blanton's, a case of Weller SR 1.75, and a case of Eagle Rare. I picked up the Blanton's because I've already got a Weller on the shelf. Today? Nothing, nada, zilch. So I checked out the Booker's. Oddly, they still have several bottles of batch 2018-03 out. I had read several excellent reviews of this batch so why not? Only live once, right? And at $66.99 it's a decent price.

Will probably crack it tonight after work and after the kiddos are in bed so I can really focus :)

The TX I gave her has a crazy low rye content if memory serves. I do have two different Weller's and a little Maker's bottle though if she gets the itch to try something again.

I think she's just a beer fan at heart.

Bought a bottle last week and it had the black plastic mesh net as well. Last bottle I bought (last summer) was in a box. The box seems to come and go.

I paid about $90 for the 15 year and $65 for the 14. I do enjoy the 14yr but if I could get my hands on the 15 distillers edition I think I would spend the extra $25

I finally picked up an Oban 18, so decided to give it a try in a flight of other "barely legal" whiskies. I think I like the Oban 14 more, but I can't say for sure until I directly compare both side-by-side. Of this flight I probably like the Talisker the best followed by the Highland Park. (Lots of E150 in this photo save for the Deanston, props to Deanston)

Then it was time to head back to the US and taste a bunch of knobs
For 40ish bucks, these are the best bang-for-the-buck whiskies you can buy. Wonderful stuff, especially when you find those 14+ yo store picks. I'm not heavily versed in Rye whiskies, but I'll tell ya that this one is YUMMY.

If you want a cheap bottle of the same stuff look at George Dickel Rye. Comes from the same mash (as do many of others that claim 95 rye) in the same distillery that many use.

So I was looking at the Dickel and the place I was at only had sour mash or Tabasco barrel aged. Neither one appealed to me.

Also on sale this Bulleit was cheaper then both those bottles.

I will keep my eye out though for the Dickel rye.

It will be a green label. Typically about 5 dollars cheaper than the Bulliet
