One of the private shops in town does a 12 Days of Christmas release of various bottles, mainly some of the harder to find allocated bottles. Saw some nice bottles, but prices were higher than what I wanted to pay.

Did walk away with this though, I like all the 1792 stuff and haven’t seen this out this way, so excited to give this a try.

It’s good. I’ve had a few bottles. It’s pretty flat to me. Meaning very one dimensional and finishes very short. I find it extremely easy to drink and enjoyable but it goes down almost too quickly to really enjoy.

I’d compare it with Weller SR. Not necessarily flavor, though that’s similar but in its simple easy to drink way with a short finish.

There's a local store here that had the EHT single barrel for $150. I wanted it, but I couldn't bring myself to spend that much on it.

 

I got a text at work today from the owner of a local store and picked them up after work. I paid $100 for the SiB and $125 for each Straight Rye. All of these are typically $200 each when you see them on the shelf in my area. Possibly looking to trade a couple with a local guy.

Double Wheat Wednesday.

 

Day 4 of the Advent Calendar brings Chicken Cock. Of the four thus far, this one stands out in that I could actually taste the flavor profile as I sipped. Carmel, Butterscotch, cherry and pepper came through here. This is one that I’d like to try again at some point - makes me wish there was one additional pour for this. Wife also liked it, liked the softness of this on the nose and that carried through.

 

If it'd been $100 I probably would have bought it. But I ended up buying this store pick Old Elk Wheated for $73 in stead. I think it was a much better deal.

 

Man down, my original from 2017 that I had engraved at the distillery to commemorate one of my best wheeling trips to date. Will become an infinity bottle.

 

Which Chicken Cock was that, I can find that brand at one store here and was going to try.

 

This is their Kentucky Straight Bourbon - 90 proof. Hope that helps.
