Bought some Knob Creek on @bvbull200 recommendation to someone else on how it was a cheap Bookers.

Rye was the same price and I’m a sucker for rye.

It has a bite. Good though.

Spec's showed they had 89 bottles of Buffalo Trace in stock at a location across town (only store in town that had it). So I drove across town only to find that the stock was allocated to their wholesale accounts! I guess I should have called first. They said even the distributors are out... bummer! Picked up these instead. The Green Spot is fantastic!

Is buffalo trace hard to find in parts of the country? It seems to always be on the shelf out here.

Just got an email from Total Wine that Green Spot was the Whiskey of the Month and a 10%coupon. Might have to give it a try if they have any.

I got the same email so I did a Google search for reviews. In the more recent reviews it didn't fare so well. Looks like @zeefarmer had a good experience though...

I just picked up a bottle and I like it. Would rather get some Basil Hayden for 1/2 the price I paid for my Green Spot, but a good whisky.

This is only the second bottle of Irish Whiskey that I've had, the first one being Proper 12. I'll say that I didn't care for Proper 12 immediately after cracking open the bottle, but we sipped on it and the Green Spot last night and the Proper 12 was much better this time around. Green Spot is heavy green apple on the nose as well as some citrus, sweet on the palate (not cloyingly so), with some vanilla, caramel, spices.. very smooth. At $50, I think it's a great whiskey. I'm sure there are better Irish whiskeys out there, maybe even at a lower price point, but I surely enjoyed this one, as did my two buddies who were over last night.

It's been very scarce for the past year or so here in San Antonio, TX. Can't speak for elsewhere...

Stopped by Total Wine today, lo and behold they had E.H. Taylor Jr! They only had it one other time that I've been looking. I've now got 3 bottles now, so it's time to open one up.

Picked up Four Roses Single Barrel on sale the other day. Very easy drinker. I keep thinking about picking up something peated, HP12 or something Ardbeg, and end up expanding my bourbon collection. I think it's a sign.

    Finally finished this *gem*.

Need to make space for my new bottles.

Actually wasn’t bad for a $10 bottle... just not great, so it’s been on the shelf for years.

Just saw some of the ECBP at a nearby bottle shop. Think it was running $75-80, if I remember correctly.
