Have heard Penelope does a nice job with their stuff. First Penelope bottle for me, always enjoy Toasted bourbons so thought I’d try this bottle. This one..first taste, hmmm. Not sure I like the notes. It’s got a bit of a scotch peat taste to it to me. See how it goes after a few pours.

Made myself a new Blanton’s stopper display this weekend out of cherry to better match my new cabinet. Celebrated a job well done with a pour of gold.

You ever sell any of those stopper holders? Bet you’d get some traction here. I’d buy one.

Perfect! Guess BT is off the list this week, maybe they’ll be giving away flooded stock

Tuesday evening, goodfellas pizza does half priced store picks. They had Russsls, OWA, EHT, Stagg, and others. Silly prices like $5 Eagle rare pours. Pizza was great as well

Wednesday - cox/evergreens - bardstown location only. Half priced pours (whole bar). Just go sit at the bar until they kick you out. They also play some weird unicorn game where they hide a unicorn statue in the store, find it and you’re able to buy something “special”

if your staying in Louisville it’s not a bad idea to go to Michters before doors open and see what stuff they put out that day. Bottle your own is awesome as well.

old forester should have the new 117 rye available at the gift shop

heaven hill experience will let you buy EW12 if you take the tour, or just chat up the clerk and skip the tour

heaven hill distillery puts out special bottles Tuesday Thursday and Saturday, but you gotta get there super early

willett has the best food and merch….so plan a stop there for lunch

if you get a drink at the wild turkey bar you get to keep the glass

There’s 2 costcos outside Louisville which could be hit/miss

probably forgetting a bunch, but goodfellas and cox evergreens I can’t recommend enough, have fun!

Just got in a new to me discovery---- if Eddie put as much focus and intensity into these as he did defending the net, they should be excellent. Looking forward to trying these and will report back :proposetoast:

Buffalo Trace is closed down due to unprecedented flooding. Hopefully the bourbon survives but more important hopefully everyone is safe in the region of KY.

Also, word of caution to anyone thinking of ordering more Aged & Ore neat glasses. Quality has gone way down. If you have one from 2+ years ago and then feel the new ones you will be highly disappointed. Half the weight maybe, feels like a cheap shot glass. Wife got me 4 of them for Christmas. They happily refunded the order at least. I guess they’ve received a lot of the same complaints.
