First time having the barrel proof version. Not exactly smooth.

I love these, I’ve had a few store picks and man they were all really solid.

How are you handling today's news out of the Barton 1792 distillery? ;)

    Attaboy, Rick!

If you're digging the barrel proofs, we had Booker's after the Pitfaced BBQ event at the bike shop last year. You'll have to hang around for a bit this year. ;)

Have to admit the the Single Barrel Select version is a little easier on the palate. Last week was in Okinawa for work and enjoyed the Hibiki / Suntory. Thinking back I wish I had stashed a bottle in my check bag.

Breaking is the one thing they seem to be plenty adept at.

Grand scheme of things, both last year's collapse and this recent spillage represent pretty small percentages of output, but I have to believe that if any expressions would be hit first, it's either Single Barrel or Full Proof.

Hibiki while in it's native land... Sounds like a good time!

Hotel I am at this week has Bookers, was able to try it for the first time. Has a much stronger bite than I expected but it mellowed out very quickly. I like it a lot

Wonder what sort of slap on the wrist they will receive. I’m sure the EPA will have a look into it.

Single barrel is meh, please let it effect that line and not my FP!

Pappy Van Winkle 20 is my favorite (although I love any year). Just bought a 15yr bottle online a couple hours ago.

I've been wanting to try this for a while now. Batches could vary from what I've been told, due to the whole aging at sea. This batch says it was a smooth cruise from the China Sea and up around the Pacific Rim

There's a rum that I drink that claims that same effect, but I have my doubts about how much effect it has because every bottle I've had has tasted the same :notsure:

I had some of the Jefferson's Ocean last night, and it was very smooth and tasty. There really is a slight saltiness on the back end that closes very well. I was quite surprised, actually. I'm a fan now. haha

Little funny happened to my after dinner sippin night before last.
My wife after dinner grabber her normal Glencarin glass of Monkey Shoulder (bout 2 fingers) and a piece or two of Dark Chocolate for desert.
She proceeded to sit on the couch, watch TV and as usual fall asleep but this time only about half way through with her MS. I took her glass from her hand and sat in on the coffee table. While she was asleep I thought to myself I hadn't had any Colonel Taylor in quite a while. So I poured me a pour and sipped on it. After finishing it I thought, I wounder how Colonel T compares to Booker's. So I poured me a pour of Mr Booker, I hadn't no more sat back down till the wife woke up.
She proceeded to grab her half drank glass of Monkey Shoulder. Start waking toward the kitchen announcing she was going to bed and empty what was remaining in her glass into my freshly poured glass of Booker's as she walked by.
I can honestly say. My wife hasn't seen me cry like that in years.
