    Don’t usually complain when my bourbon gets drank, but I made the mistake of leaving a bottle of dovetail at my GF’s with no other bourbon or whiskey options. I had two conservative pours out of it.. It is delicious, bit fruity but every taste was different and still retained the bourbon finish. Quite good.

    Now the botte is easily under half. The gf was tipsy and her friend was smashed. Doubt they took the time to look it was 120+ proof before they mixed it with seven(most likely).

    :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed:

    Time to bring some OGD bonded back over haha.

    Now I’m ISO another bottle... any of you DFW folks have a spare or lead?

    Buffalo Trace is a fun tour. And learned some really cool stuff, too. The history there is remarkable.

    Oh wow. Not disappointed

    image.jpg

    It was this or Dickel rye. The larceny was on special and almost the same price as the Dickel so I gambled and I will not complain

    My go to american bourbon is makers 46. Much better than standard makers. However, I've been trying out scotches more often and have taken a liking to this one

    Almost picked up a bottle of the same stuff over the weekend on sale for $24, but wanted to do some research on it first.

    Please tell me you're not drinking 16yo Scotch ice-cold from the freezer....

    Spent a week on a work trip and the hotel bar had some decent bottles, got to try Four Roses Single Barrel for the first time. I found it to be an easy drinker, had it neat with just a single ball of ice, not a lot of bite to it and rather smooth with some nice vanilla accents. My second was the Bulliet Frontier Whiskey, I did like this one too, I will probably pick up a bottle of it when I'm home because I can find it pretty much everywhere.

    My last one I tried, and the reason it was my last is because it's all I drank the rest of the week (2-3 a night... haha thank you for work expenses) was Booker's...damn I fell in love with it, the hotel manager ran over to Total Wine and gave me a bottle as a parting gift (I stay with them every time I travel so I end up spending a lot of time and money at their hotel).

    That Sagamore Spirit Double Oak with the blue/gold label is a spectacular rye whiskey.

    Oof. I have to be selective when I start bringing bottles out of the cabinet. I have a few people that, if left to their own devices, would snag my Old Rip Van Winkle and pour it in some ginger ale while being none the wiser about the difficulty of obtaining that bottle.

    I'll keep my eyes peeled for a Dovetail.
