Ok, I took you at your word and picked this up last week. Anyways, the wife has been hounding me to buy it just for the way the bottle looks.

Have you/do you have the Blue Knight's Batch? There's a bottle with a thick layer of dust on the box near me. I kind of want it.

I don't have a bottle and don't recall having tried it. Don't see it in my notes, either. 2017 was a dark year for me with Booker's. They announced they were dropping to 4 batches and raising the price. I was perturbed . The price hike never really formulated, so I went back and got a couple, but not that one.

If it is regularly priced, I'd pick it up! It might be your only chance to get that batch at a decent price, given we're on to the 2019 batches, now. Let me know how it is!

Or buy and ship to me :D.

What's that stuff run in the store? I haven't ever tried it.

The bottle would make an excellent decanter when you're done with the booze.

They had it in stock here but it's out now... Might be different price in another part of the country.

A friend gave his empty bottle to me for that purpose so I haven't actually tried IWH 15. It's what I use to keep my barrel finished stuff in. The cork is waaaaay better than the typical Amazon specials.

I'm using empty Blanton's and Hibiki bottles for decanters- filled with cheap, plastic bottled rotgut for those who don't appreciate the good stuff. "You want club soda in that? Sure, let me pour you something from this pretty bottle with the horsey on it..."

Wife bought me a pretty nice diamond shaped decanter for Christmas one year (glass, not crystal). I keep pretty average whiskey in there. The wife asked why not the good stuff? I explained to her first that I didn't want the good stuff out in the light and second, to your point, that I could impress guests by letting them pull from it. She got right on board.

Pulled a sample from the port aging barrel and I'm really digging were it's heading.

    20190311_172106.jpg

I haven't had a beer in a few months so figured it was time to pop a 120 after letting this one hang out in the pantry for 2 years.

    20190311_204339.jpg

Still a fine pour, but I really liked this batch at 1 year old more than 2 :notsure:

Anybody else play around with aging?
