Favorite Whiskey?

There is a small chain of stores in Illinois, If you're a loyal customer, AND let them know what you're interested in, when they get their limited supply they will call you and give you a chance to purchase. At least that's the way it's been done in the past. Othet storrd auction theirs and clearly that drives up the price.
They only get them once a year.

 

Bourbon cream is also great in hot chocolate.

At Buffalo Trace they give you a sample with root beer and it is suprisingly good. Am going have to try it with a shake

 

I'll have to try that. I don't care for Irish Cream any other way, so I'm sure Bourbon Cream would suffer from the same problem.

Total Wine in Euless has Dovetail in stock. Signed bottles. I got the pic from a buddy that was out that way or I would have grabbed you a bottle.

 

This was new in the store today - the previous Rare Breed was a lower proof and different bottle. I liked the other version so I thought I'd give this one a shot. Anybody else tried the 116?

 

I finished a bottle of that on Monday. I really like it.

 

I was rearranging the liquor cabinet this evening and figured I should take a photo of the current lineup.


I hadn't realized I'd run out of Bulleit.
I'll have to grab some more when I replace that bottle of JW I just killed off

Look at the “front desk” items they had out at the Denton store. Sad...

The garrison bros is good. Just hard to justify. Tastes young still imo.

It's good stuff. I'm about to finish off my 2nd bottle. It's in my top 5 favorites.

 

I prefer the 10YO. The Select has a lighter flavor, almost tastes sweeter? Still has a ton of Islay peat up front, which I like in a scotch, but it has a much softer smell which definitely affects the taste.

Yeah, I killed that bottle off right before I took the photo (it's what's in my glass), which is why it made the lineup.

 

If I were you I'd dig into the Eagle Rare next, lol. Have you tried JW green?

 

It was a work night; one glass is usually all I'll have during the week.
Not yet. I've had the black, but not the green.

It's already been opened; everything in that lineup has been enjoyed previously. Bottles don't last long with unbroken seals in my liquor cabinet.

 

A gift from the wife after our last trip to Ireland in '17. Pretty damn good right out of the bottle, but opens up beautifully with a couple drops of water!
