It's definitely yoga-enabling if you don't have much of a sense of moderation.

Flavor isn't bad either; pretty smooth and a little on the sweet side (typical of Irish whiskey, in my personal experience), but the bourbon barrel-only aging is noticeable, because it's not quite as sweet as the black label Bushmills (bourbon AND sherry). I like it; I'm not a huge fan of Irish whiskies typically, but this one's got a nice bite.

Highly recommend these two gems... if you can ever find them :p

I <3 wheated bourbon. This old fitz is very similar to van winkle 12. But a tiny bit less oaky and fruity, and a tad bit more cinnamon.

Killed this bottle tonight. I know you can get it in the US now, but I bought this bottle a few months before it hit our shores and was an international exclusive. They only offered it in the 500ml size at that time.

About $100, which, IMO, for a bourbon this good and the history that it has, is very cheap. It’s a lot more on the “non-state-run” market. Old Fitz has an 11 year supposed to drop here this year I’m hoping I can get

Have you had any Old Fitz?

I need to find a bottle of red bush. After a few pours my jokes would get funnier and my ginger wife would be madder.

I just bought Four Roses single barrel yesterday and i really like it. Also, woodford reserve double Oaked is one of my favorites.

Found a bottle of colonel EH four grain in the wild... $329 plus tax. Couldn’t justify it although let’s just say I was tempted. If it woulda been $200 I prob woulda popped on it considering they are $400 or so secondary. They also had 3 ECBP on the shelf but they were marked up to $90. No spring break purchase/finds to report.

I noticed, on Wednesday, that they are putting in a Total Wine in Myrtle Beach. I have never been in one. Do they usually have the good, hard to find bourbons?? I guess, what I'm asking is...is this something for me to be excited about or just another liquor store??

I've found it depends on the store. The one closest to me as a huge selection of bourbon, scotch and whiskey. Another TW not too far away has about 1/2 the size. Prices will vary between stores, but not by a huge amount. They are always cheaper than BevMo, but BevMo will price match. Sign up for their rewards program and you earn money back. I'm in the Grand Reserve level and get $5 off occasionally, plus free access to wine tasting events (that usually cost money) and other things.

Here's the not-so-secret secret - they keep allocated stuff behind the front service desk. If you go in on a regular basis remember names. I always talk up the Assistant Manager if she's there. Ask them nicely if they have any interesting bourbon or Scotches behind the desk. I've been doing that and have since been told what days they get deliveries, so I try and stop by on those days.

The post above where someone's was seeing +$300 bottle of EH Taylor. Yikes! I'd wait on that, it's good but not that. TW got a few cases in a week or two ago, selling for list (avout$50), just gotta be patient. I actually passed because I already have 3 bottles.

The whiskey/whisky isle at my local TW. It's awesome.

Four grain is one of my favs. Gypsie id agree with you, if it was on shelf for $200 I’d have to grab it. Carl I’m assuming you’re talking about seeing one of the more readily available Taylor’s for 50
