Wow, I imagine that's gotta be worth a pretty penny given the limited bottling. That's damn cool, thanks for sharing.

$75-150, probably. Box looks like you'd expect being 35 years old, but the fill level on that bottle is really good, so it's probably towards the higher side. I just looked up a few and found an auction as low as $50 (that person got a steal) and some private sales for upwards of $140. I don't know enough about the history of that bottle to distinguish exactly why some might command more than others. That's in the neighborhood of what that Seagram's VO cost me, though I bought it a while back and can't remember specifically.

Really cool bottle! I'd show that thing off for sure.

Thanks! It basically lives way in the back of my liquor closet...my old man gave it to me when I discovered bourbon about 15 years ago. He bought it new back in 83. It won't be cracked open.

Today was a good day. At retail. Saw another stagg marked up to $80 and left it on the shelf.

I sent your pics to a buddy of mine that loves these old bottles and is also a duck hunter... he sent this back in return. Man, these are badass. He's bought and sold a few of these and said they've gone for 60-80 bucks.

Well, a stormy snowy evening seems like a good time to crack the bottle that the GF brought back for me from her trip to the UK.

Edit- a dram by the fire while the snow falls and the cat tries to catch birds thru the window seems even better!
    Slainte!!

So I finished off a bottle of Evan Williams single barrel a couple of weeks ago. Now it's time to pick the next contestant. 20190409_175431.jpg

I bought a bottle of Glennfiddich Snow Phoenix for my Dad when it first came out. Probably $80 retail.

It’s worth a bit more now. And it remains unopened in its special case.

I finally decided to grab the bottle of Nikka From The Barrel at my local store. It's been hiding on the top shelf in the back, out of sight for most people (I'm tall). $59, and holy smokes is it delightful. It's top few for my collection - I like it more than Hibiki Harmony I think.

That's a solid lineup! Tough choice... after coming off of a single barrel I'd probably stick to a small batch next if I could only drink one. Maybe go with 1792 and save the EC for later (I like EC over 1792, so I'd save the best for last, but that's just my opinion).

Personally, I'd open them all up and take a few pulls out of each to determine what my favorites are. Then, come back a month or so later to the ones that you haven't visited in a while and see if they've changed for the better... you'll be surprised!

Thought about the 1792 since I've had it before but kinda leaning to the Knob Creek Single Barrel. Knob isn't one of my top bourbons but maybe this one will change my mind.
