I was going to pick up a bottle of this and try it out but no one around me seems to have it in stock. Odd.

took me a few stores to find it. said they stock a few bottles every now and then. Definitely worth getting if you see it. avoid the secondary markups though. still a really good one, but I hate paying inflated prices and justifying bloated costs.

now the Game of Thrones complete set... :spy::rofl:

I live 15 minutes from Buffalo Trace and rarely see EH Taylor (any expression) in stores locally. But regular Buffalo Trace...that one I can get in any liquor store I walk into and there's usually full shelves of it.

Odd may have to go up to the other liquor store on the other side of town this evening and see what they have.

Ya I’m going to try. Then again may just go and if they don’t have it I’ll just come back with some good tequila. :)

haha, I've done that before. I was actually really proud of myself the other day when they didn't have the Buffalo Trace I wanted, I just left. I even told my wife expecting praise.

She just judged me for needing another bottle of liquor

That's usually my strategy. If I go looking for something specific and if they don't have it then I'll just switch focus and try something else, usually in a totally different variety of booze

I found a replenished local stash of Buffalo Trace, I need to pick up another bottle after work!

Had to pick up a bottle of vodka for the SWMBO today and was near BevMo so I stopped in. Talking to one of the guys there and he said last week they got in several bottles of Yamazaki 12, which were gone quickly. Dammit!

So after I grabbed the vodka I perused the Scotch and whiskey isle, not expecting much because BevMo has a smallish selection and rarely has any allocated stuff (Yamazaki being the exception to the rule) when I spotted my first sighting of Legent around her. Had to pick up a bottle to give it a shot. I've got a Scotch and Rye open, but not a bourbon, so this may get cracked tonight. I have a few others on deck but this may jump ahead.

How do you have all of these unopened bottles in your liquor cabinet?

Once I tasted good whiskey I decided I needed to build a collection. I'm building faster than I'm drinking! Honestly 1 drink a night is my usual, however my 1 drink is 3 times the pour size you get in a bar, so...

    :D

    Does not compute.

I like the variety; I've almost never got less than 5-6 different whiskies open and in the rotation, with maybe 2-3 still sitting sealed in the cabinet.

I only typically have one at a time also, 3-4 nights a week. But I still like the variety. :notsure:

I'll get onto a kick where I'll drink a certain type of drink and I'll try it with all of the bottles I currently have open. So I'll spend a week sampling a sidecar with all of my whiskies, then move on to something else.

I do have a few favorites that I keep in stock while trying new ones. For Scotch it's Oban 14, Japanese Whisky it's Hibiki, Rye it's usually Pikesville and for bourbon... well I can't say I found a favorite yet. Probably why I have so many.

I used to keep 5 or 6 bottles open but I'm one of the ones who find the taste goes downhill after being open for some time so I don't do that anymore. Nothing like pouring a dram from a $90 bottle and find it's not very good anymore.

I've solved that problem by not keeping anything that expensive on hand

Edit- But now it's Friday and it's time to go home and pour a dram! Maybe even two...

    See you all Monday!

I'm really excited to open my bottle of that EW BiB. I haven't been this excited about a $15 bottle in a long time .

Had a buddy of mine with a similar palate give it pretty high marks. Fingers crossed!
