You'd have to ask @bvbull200 - he's the lucky one who has the special Blantons.

Drank the Straight From the Barrel last night and had some of the Gold the weekend before. Actually, we had quite a bit of the Gold . Shared each with about 8 people or so for different occasions.

Buffalo Trace should sell the SFTB over here, charge about $85 for it, and make it the standard offering. It is easily the best of those three above. It fixes the one gripe I have with the regular single barrel, which is the really low proof that makes it a bit dull, to me. Don't get me wrong, it tastes very nice, but I like at least a little excitement. I figured a little higher proof would do the trick and boy does it. The Gold is 103 proof, and a step in the right direction as well. For that matter, since not everyone seeks high proof stuff, Gold could be the standard stuff and SFTB the barrel proof option.

I never understood why an American distillery, making Kentucky bourbon, sells their best stuff overseas but not here. What's up with that?! It's been a long tine since I've flown overseas, but next time I do I'll be on the hunt for these (and more).

Some of my best ideas have come with copious amounts of liquor.

Wait maybe they were just great in my head.

Ok Mr @bvbull200 ... Not bad at all. I still prefer Jack. But this is good. And much cheaper.

It is pretty nice. I was curious to see how a big Old No. 7 fan like yourself would like it. Stupid cheap, decent neat sipper, and mixes mighty fine with Coke!

I can say it'll be in rotation. Interesting profile with the coke. I keep searching for the Jack finish as I'm accustom to. This lingers and gets sweeter as it trails off. I'll have to try this again at the start of the night to see.

Any suggestions for something good for a celebratory shot? Have my best friend's bachelor party this weekend and figured I'd bring a bottle of something to take a shot with before we go out...
