Going fishing on Lake Grenada in Mississippi tomorrow with a buddy that shared this fine dram.

 

Picked a bottle of OGD from my local Costco to add to the collection. I’m a big fan of OGD for price. 1L for $19.99

 

I've yet to see any OGD bonded come through here, I'd probably like it. Killed another bottle of 114 tonight though.

Edit: Buffalo Trace has actually been non existent around here lately. Eagle Rare has been stocked though.

 

That's a steal, I've been paying ~$36 after tax for a 750ml around here

 

Yeah Costcos price is cheaper than what we would buy it at wholesale at the bar i used to tend at. Costco seems to be pretty hard to beat for liquor prices, at least here in NorCal

 

Chasing crappie or..?

 

Wife and I are 90% sure were flying out to Yellowstone in September. We've been back and forth between going to Yellowstone, Yosemite or the Grand Canyon.
We've finally settled on Yellowstone. Probably stay in West Yellowstone Idaho to visit the park 3-4 days then drive down to Jackson Hole Wyoming to visit the Grand Tetons for a couple of days.
Anyone know what special treats can usually be found Whiskey wise in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming?
Looking to pick up a few bottles I can't find here in NC. Can't bring back too much though due to flying.

 

You know I completely forgot last summer we bought a bottle from them when we were at their store. I haven't tried it yet. It got put up and I just saw it today.

 

Yessir, was a rough one out there today but we got some nice sized fish.

 

FINALLY found one of these in the wild. Just had to find it two states over is all.



And my buddy is mulling 4 of these 300 dollar bastards over to some DFW bourbon group guys.

 

This has been one of my favorites recently. Since Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare have been barren around Ohio recently I’ve been trying everything new that I haven’t had before. While I’m sure some people call this company cheaters by pressure aging their whiskey, I’ve been through a couple bottles and had no complaints. At $32 it’s fantastic neat and makes a good old fashioned if you’re into that.

I've never heard of "pressure aging". I'll have to do some reading.

 

I had some Wyoming Whiskey while in Jackson, it was decent. Nothing to write home about in my opinion but a good sipper to support the local economy and possibly a nice souvenir. Beyond that I have have no clue for that region. Jackson Hole is amazing though so enjoy that!

Finished the Yamazaki 12 last night then had some Compass Box (I couldn't get the damn bottle to balance on the glass so I had to hold it - could have been because of the quantity consumed ).

Picked up a bottle of High West American Prairie Bourbon. Going to crack it in a little, we'll see how it is.

 

Local place had it marked down to like $18 a bottle. Was talking to the manager and he said people just dont care for this stuff. Saying he wasnt going to stock it again. Shouldve grabbed a couple.
