    It’s my Friday boys and this is so damn good for a 4 yr. I definitely recommend. I will be getting a backup bottle. 1F818463-5B0C-473C-8501-2F990827E188.jpg

    Funny you say that. Bought the 1st bottle of Scotch other than Monkey Shoulder for the wife in over a year last night. I started out in Scotch a couple years back and migrated to Bourbons. I had a pour a night or so back of an almost empty bottle of Balvenie 14 Year Old Caribbean Cask I had sitting around.
    I had forgotten just how good some of theses can be. This is the 3rd or 4th bottle of this Glenmorangie 10 yr I've bought. Well worth the money especially
    with the two mini bottles. Not quite as good as a Macallan 12 yr. But it's only a little over half the price.
    Speaking of Macallan. Google their new distillery and check out the pics. Or better yet watch a couple videos on YouTube. That place is truly a work of art.

    I think I've said it on here before, but bourbon is my favorite whiskey in a broad sense, but scotch is so much more fun to drink, to me. That and my favorite whisk(e)y of them all is a scotch (Glenmorangie Signet).

    Such a diverse range of flavor profiles and, while the Scotch Whisky Association is strict about adherence to their rules, the rules aren't nearly as narrow as bourbon, so there is a lot more creativity in the development of the product.

    Rum cask finished stuff (like the aforementioned Balvenie 14) and port cask finished stuff might be a solid place to start. They tend to be fairly full bodied and on the sweeter end like a bourbon.

    Need or want Liquor Hut (outside of Houston) Barrels 3419 and 3423? Just released, last year's barrels lasted quite a bit but now that taters are chasing 1792 it may not hang around for too long.

    I've bought so much from Total Wine that I'm in their Grand Reserve club. I got an email the other day saying they are having a lottery for a chance to buy some special bottles and would I be interested in entering? Interested? Are you kidding?!

    I had to rank them in order of preference. I'm not sure how all this all works but if I get a chance to buy any of these I'll be doing jumping jacks. After my broken leg heals, that is.

    My order of preference;

    I'd move that WLW up to at least 4th, if not higher. I get the desire for a bottle of actual Pappy Van Winkle, though, so I get #1-3. That WLW is some seriously good stuff, though (assuming this year's is in line with previous ones).

    My group all buys under the same phone number, so we're Grand Reserve as well. One of the other guys filled out the entry. I think it went WLW, PVW23, ER17 for the top three, if I recall.

    I didn't get the e-mail, but I believe they draw the first name, then that person gets their first preference. Then they draw the second name and that person gets their highest preference that is still left. Then do the same for the third and so on and so forth.

    I am certain they draw them all, then send out notifications to the winners for which bottle they ended up with.
