When I was a kid, I remember there was a neighborhood alcoholic who would pound Four Roses like a marathon runner does water after a race. I always grew up thinking of it as cheap rot gut because of that. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried that bottle of small batch. Although as stated, it did give me a hell of a headache the next morning. Or, maybe I was just likely dehydrated and am blaming it on the booze due to my predisposed opinion on the brand.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
I visited the distillery in 2009, while in Scotland to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary. When the guide found out why we were in Scotland, he brought us some 50 year old. Man... That was special. And my wife loves me enough, she only took one sip, and gave me the rest of her dram.

    Best. Whisky. Ever.

Yeah, but I need to go back and research the names. It’s been about 3 years since I ordered. MoM won’t do it anymore. But there are a couple others. Let me see if I can dig them up

I think I can hook you up with an SFTB. Pretty sure I have two still in the bunker. ;)

I have another Gold on the way, too, if you're interested at my cost.

Blantons is one of my all time favorites! Also just picked up a bottle of the 1776 today. Local store didn't have much of a selection.

I’m pleasantly surprised on how yummy it is. I got 2 bottles, one for me and one for a friend. Gonna go get another bottle tomorrow since I don’t see this one lasting too long.

Damn! Maybe I should have pulled that card while we were touring; the trip to Scotland was for our anniversary too. We're not married, but it's still 15 years :notsure:

    The 'Haul' from this trip.

I'd have brought back more, but I ran out of room in the checked bag (and you're only allowed 2 from the Duty Free shop)

Got some nice glassware while we were there, too.

I'd intended to get a large bottle of the Lagavulin, but it was actually more expensive at the distillery than I see it for here in the states, so I just picked up a 'souvenir bottle' instead.
