I was pleasantly surprised when I took a Spirit airlines flight this summer and they had mini bottles of Buffalo Trace.

That’s cause they need to liquor you up so you forget that they shoehorned you into that seat and that your knees are in your chest. :)

Had this one last night, a spur-of-the-moment purchase at the booze shop. It's actually quite good, especially for a $24 bottle. I had it with a splash of water, but I feel like it'd go really well with a dash of bitters & 1 small rock in there instead.

Didn't grab a photo; I guess I'll just have to try it again tonight so I can get a picture of it in the glass ;)

In other news, the owner finally started carrying Highland Park!
I've been bugging them about it for 6 months, and of course I just brought a bottle back from Scotland with me because nobody carried it locally. So even though I've got 2 bottles at home, I bought one last night to show him that I appreciated him bringing the brand into inventory

Out and about today hitting up four liquor stores, and five guitar shops. On the last stop of the day, I discovered this Alabama Bicentennial release of Knob Creek Single Barrel 120.
$54 for a 14.5 year old, 120 proof? Hell yeah. Bought two. Might go back and “invest” in more as it’s pretty good.

    They've been testing me lately.

Luka finally not playing all 12 minutes in the 3rd and getting more burn in the 4th. Hope they bring this one home.

Sample of M25 along with these, after trying the M25 first everything else just plain sucked. I’d open a M25 if I found it locally. Third time having it and it’s always incredible. 05B15C4A-32CC-47F1-8B8D-9C3DD3EA4F01.jpg

When it comes to Bourbon, my five favorite whiskeys under 100$ are Four Roses Single Barrel, Wild Turkey Rare Breed, Baker's 7 year old, Blanton's Straight from the barrel and finally the king of bourbons for well under 100 bucks: Elijah Craig 12 years Barrel Proof.

I'm not so much into the peat monsters of Islay, but the ones I enjoyed most are: Laphroaig Quarter Cask (these days much better than the standard 10 year old), Ardbeg Uigeadail, Ardbeg Corryvreckan, Kilchoman Sanaig (a young peated scotch matured in sherry casks) and my favorite of the Islay whiskies: Bunnahabhain 12 years old. The Bunna 12 however is not a peated whisky, but one of the best 12 year olds you can buy.

Another really great and heavily peated whisky would be Ledaig 10 years old from the isle of Mull. This one gives many standard Islay whiskies a run for their money.

A big shoutout to @MattJakobs for going to Costco, buying 3 bottles of Nikka from the barrel for me then dropping them of at my house on his way through town (couldn't meet him anywhere as I have a broken leg). I wish I had more time to talk whisky with him when he was here but the other half and I were having a disagreement about something and it was a bit tense.

    My Japanese collection is growing!
