This year's release was excellent imo, I'd really like another, blew the Weller 12 away at a 1/3 the price.

How is this Dickle stuff ??

I've yet to open mine but I had some of my buddies and it was really yummy. I have a feeling it'll disappear fast once it does get opened.

Four Rose's small batch. I'm sure there's better bourbon out there but I'm not rich and small batch is pretty good for the price.

Hoping you guys have suggestions for me. I've tried half a dozen or so bourbons but trying to find one that checks all the boxes is hard. I picked up a bottle of the basic 4 Roses and really liked it. Very easy to drink IMO. Price point is good and its easy to find. But the company is HQ'd out of Japan so I feel a tiny bit guilty that the profit is being sent overseas. (I know I own a Toyota, so what!) My question for you guys is if you have had anything else comparable.

Also, would you consider the basic 4 Roses somewhat bland and uninteresting compared to what you usually reach for? I'd like to know how/why this is. (lower ABV at 40%?) I'm just getting into Whiskey and so far just scratching the surface.

Beam-Suntory bought out a large chunk of American made bourbons and whiskeys. Google them to see their full inventory... includes big names like Makers Mark.

Told my uncle a few months ago that my wife and I are planning a Scotland trip this year and he sent me some reading material.

    20200128_192359.jpg

I need to do a bunch of research still to come up with a plan. Not sure if we should book a guided trip or just wing it ourselves.
