Told my uncle a few months ago that my wife and I are planning a Scotland trip this year and he sent me some reading material.

I need to do a bunch of research still to come up with a plan. Not sure if we should book a guided trip or just wing it ourselves.

I always look for Weller special reserve on the west coast. I feel like it is harder to find in TN and the south and costs more. If you see a bottle under $65 I think it's worth snatching up. What does it cost in other parts of the states?

Really regretting not getting in the group buy for the glasses a while back. Any chance another run could happen?

The only WSR I've seen out west was in indie liquor stores for ridiculous money. I had a business trip to Ohio and lucked into a grocery store/state run liquor department that had WSR and Antique 107. Got 750ml of each of those and a 1.75 liter WSR for retail (I think the 1.75 was +/- $50).

Found one in Leadville CO for $29 a few weeks ago but that was a rare score. Most of the time it seems to be in the $40-60 dollar range around here these days.

We get a release every month of about 150-200 bottles, used to be $20, now they are $25.

Odd situation but WSR is probably the easiest find for me

That’s great that the special reserve is that cheap. I can’t find antique 107 in any liquor store from the Bay Area to LA.

I've only seen the 107 and the other special version (12 year?) once and they were over $100 a bottle

I always have my eye out for the Weller 12 year (for a reasonable price). I'm saving my other Weller so I can make Poor Mans Pappy with them. My hope of finding the 12 grows dim though; the rare times any of the stores around here got an allocation of a few bottles they sell out within an hour. So unless you happen to wander in at that exact moment you are S.O.L.

Sounds like my attempts find Eagle Rare...which I get the impression flows like water in some parts of the country.

About 5-6 months ago I could always expect to find ER and BT on the shelf, but now they're always empty spots.

    Alrighty. New rule.

Let’s make a running list of what folks are looking for. When it’s found available for purchase (at a reasonable price) the TW member buys all bottles. Said Member will then agree to equitably distribute and ship for cost. No markup allowed.

Ya if there are enough people I'm sure we can do another run (we actually just ordered more of the glasses for a project). Just for the sake of shipping costs (always a killer) we would probably need to do some minimums on orders.

I'd be in for another one, maybe I'll get more than 1 use out of it?!

Doesn't that sort of contribute to this:
