I've had the EHTBP before and yes it's fantastic. I may try to move this bottle though... there's just so much out there that I still want to get ahold of!

Everyone raves about that bottle. It's been hanging around TW in the case for a while now... each time I go I get a little closer to pulling the trigger. Would you buy it again?

I got a good deal buying a few bottles on secondary. I think it's about $80-90 retail?

    Would I buy it again?

I think so. That's lofty expectations, though.

The port influence on the whiskey is so elegant and something that Basil Hayden Dark Rye failed miserably at.

The Cabernet influence is mostly on the finish. Similar to a dry cab and it's really pleasant.

Frankly, this stuff is really wild. Really high proof that you feel as the finish begins, port profile with oak and char that port wine alone doesn't normally provide due to the viscosity and sweetness, dark rum throughout, but there is no mistaking that it is whiskey. Whiskey with dark cherry notes, caramelized brown sugar, toasted marshmallow.

Fuck it. I would buy another. It isn't my favorite > $65 whiskey, but it's worth it for the rollercoaster alone.

If it's a rollercoaster, then I definitely wanna give it a shot. Thanks for the insight!

If I do decide I wanna swap this one out, you'll be the first to know. I'm kinda torn at the moment since it's such a great bottle.

Mine didn't get it year before last year, not sure about last year or if we'll get it this year (main reason why I'm having trouble letting it go). My bottle is a 2015 Batch 4 127.2 proof.

Finally got around to removing shelves and drawers in our cabinet so I could put some/most of the bottles in there. I have some LED lights to add in there at some point too.

All the clear liquors and tequila are behind the Booker's wall.

    Time for a pour I think... :D

First bottle purchase of 2020... Booker's 2019-04. Hard to believe I made it 32 days before buying a bottle this year.:rofl::rofl::rofl:

I never got to try any of the 2019 batches, so I look forward to opening this one soon and comparing to 2018-01 (my favorite Booker's batch of 2018).

@Misplaced Nebraskan and @bvbull200 ... what are your favorite Booker's batches of 2019? I seem to remember high praise was given to 2019-02 and 2019-03, but I didn't catch much info on 2019-04.

So far, it's between 2019-02 & 03 for me, but I have not had 04.

I'm hosting a tasting with all 4 batches on February 15th. Will have a comprehensive side by side, then.:D

I didn’t notice the date until I was halfway through the bottle, ended up being my 23rd birthday! So it made sense to kill it on my (34th) birthday haha

    114FD385-4ABB-4AC1-B74F-D7882DF7126E.jpg

I did decide to keep the bottle...
