Not that particular bottle. I've had Dot's Batch before, though. I'm not quite sure the nuanced differences between the Euro and Domestic release.

Dot's Batch is very tasty. Everything from 2015 is.

I've got one of them too, and was curious what your thoughts were on it if you tried it. IIRC, the age and ABV is closer to Big Man Small Batch than Dot's batch, but I haven't looked into where the barrels came from in the rickhouses.

Went to pick up that Stagg Jr. and someone beat me to it. The guy did say to check back Monday because that's when they get their limited stuff in :fingerscrossed:.

In the mean time I decided to dip my toes into the scotch barrel again with something that won't break the bank if I just can't get into it.

First impression is it's not bad but I'm still not sure if scotch is something I could enjoy as much as bourbon.

Second impression after letting the ice melt in a little bit... I'm having another pour, for a $30 bottle I'm not disappointed. I'm at least not ready to give up on scotch again, yet.

Need some good thoughts and fingers crossed from y'all! Had to check two bottles of whiskey from duty free on this trip. They are flying cargo in just the boxes

    AWESOME movie. :)

They are probably safer than having them shipped. Ask Bryan how that’s gone lately.

Everything survived! The Jack was what had to fly cargo. Apparently a 3 litre bottle won't fit in their alcohol scanner so it has to be checked. No room in our carry on so we had to hope for the best or forfeit it. They survived! Also snagged a 1 litre Johnnie Walker XR 21. Can't wait to try this one.

The wines were free for spending money.

Next time I travel I'll suck it up and take a checked bag. That way I can be safer . One of the JD is for my dads B-day and I needed one too cause he can't have something like that and not me :D. My other one doesn't have the cradle.

Looong day of travel but I have a nice cold whiskey and Coke now. Sleep may come soon. If not... I've got more whiskey ;)

they were $99 each tax free from the Duty Free Store. Not the most cost effective per litre, but who cares :D

indeed! they had to search other stores in the airport to find the second one. I'll have to rearrange my Jack display now to make it fit.

It definitely wouldn't fit in my current set up... It would have to sit on the top.. so maybe I should just scrap the current cabinet and and build a custom one to fit the 3L and the Sinatra bottle that's still in the box. HAHA I changed the name of my thread so I may as well change the cabinet too https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/whiskey-cabinet-bs.652118/

If the Peaty flavors are what put you off about scotch, you should look into some of the Lowlands whiskies like Auchentoshan, Glenkinchie, Linlithgow, Strathclyde, etc. They've got a much lighter flavor, more sweetness and florals than peat.
