Favorite Whiskey?

Jealous of that sour mash. I was going to pick up some today but they sold out and only have it at a different location.

 

I had to grab some down in California because Oregon doesn't even have it allocated. I'm waiting to open it. Have you had it, yet?

 

I haven’t opened it yet, I’m waiting for a buddy who’s been wanting to try it as well. I’ll definitely let everyone know how I like it

 

I can’t wait to try it. I’m heading up to your area next weekend, my brother lives in Oakley. I’m going to make a pit stop at bitters and bottles in south San Fran, have you been there?

 

I have not. I’m actually with a buddy from school that just moved here. Earlier today, I randomly up a bottle of Stagg Jr Batch 12 from a random corner store.

Had a great whiskey weekend! At camp we killed a WLW and dipped into some older ECBP bottles, 80s WT, and some MGP barrel proof ryes and blends. Everything was absolutely fantastic, but the standout stars of the show were a few hazmat proof 19 year old wheaters... they even blew away the WLW.

 

Just got laid off till June first due to Corona. Decided to celebrate with a unique bottle of Bulliet and some shitty beer!

 

Not liking that you got laid off.. but for the bourbon!

Tried some Blantons (unknown specifics, got a glass at a bar) and Elijah Craig (same with the Blantons). Was impressed.

 

A bit of a bummer but not the end of the world. I work in a ski town, we were getting to the end of the season anyways. I was counting on a few more paychecks before the well ran dry but I’ve got a fair bit of savings so I’ll survive no problem. The main disappointment is having 2+ months off and not really being able to do something fun!

The whiskey is actually pretty damn good by the way!

A buddy of mine took two weeks off from work, to ski Jackson Hole. He landed on Saturday night and while he was standing in line to buy tickets yesterday they shut the mountain down. So he rented a car and is driving to Vail, to try and at least salvage some of the trip.

 

I saw some EC18 at retail today but didn't pull the trigger. Is it worth the price tag?

 

I haven't had it but for retail (depending on price) I'd probably snag a bottle to try it...

 

Retail is $150, a little hard to swallow..

 

It's worth it. Friend of mine has tons of bourbons...George T. Stagg (the 2017 which was a great year), Stagg Jr., Van Winkle Lot B, Old Rip, etc...and his favorite is EC18. As a matter of fact, we sampled some of the 18 this past weekend. It's good.
