My wife is fond of “stop dickin’ your dog” which translates to “get your ass in gear” and hurry up.

You have Corti brothers in Colorado? Wonder if that is from the small, specialty market here in Sacramento... Very popular, great wine selection, deli, Italian food stuffs and occasionally some interesting spirits (got Nikka from the barrel at low retail and High West Silver Western Oat...

Edit - just zoomed in on the picture and see that it is from our Cordi Brothers market. Crazy. What's the story on how you got that?

Cracked open Compass Box Story of the Spaniard last night. First pour was spicy and I thought of bourbon. Looked it up and found only a very small percentage is aged on ex-bourbon barrels - like 5%. The rest are in Oloroso and Sherry. Strange. Came back to it tonight after it's had a chance to air out and that bourbon kick is all but gone and now it's more of the sweetness of the sherry. Damn good stuff.

Just a bunch of old crap
Knob Creek any day of the week, mixed or straight. It's the best bang for the buck for my palate. Always available, always affordable, always does the job and gets me buzzed with minimal to no hangover.

My buddy has a bunch of connections in the F&B/Whiskey/Wine world. This bottle was gifted to him. I just lucked out in getting to sample 1.5 oz or so of its final pours. Unfortunately I was pretty drunk by that time so I didn’t take many tasting notes. It was cool to get to part take in such a unique bottle though. Here’s a bit more information on it if you’re interested.

I can see why people are love or hate mostly. I'm on the fence of "aight" and "meh"

    If that makes sense:rofl:

Lol interesting. All I know is that I love Shiner and I love Balcones.

Although the worst whiskey I ever had was a single malt aged in Lakewood Tempest Stout barrels (and I love that beer too)... so I guess I should be concerned with this one too

Not at all actually. Just kinda "unmixed" or not super cohesive. Hard to describe

That stuff is super heavy on the sherry. I'm a big sherry cask finish fan, but that didn't tickle my fancy as much as most Compass Box stuff does. A touch of bitterness in that fruit finish. Like a dry plum or something. I'd still let you pour me a dram though.;)

Bottle was full a little bit ago before I got heavy handed. Super solid $30 pour.
