I think the Quarter Cask is my next bottle. I’m really enjoying the Islay stuff right now.

Has anyone used instacart before? I found a EHT BP on there by my brothers house for $95, but have never used it or heard of anyone that has. It’s at Safeway, of all places too

I've got a real oddity here and an old standard..
The oddity is St. George's Baller “A California take on the Japanese spin on Scotch whisky.” It's meant for making Highballs and mixed drinks. I find it too floral for my liking straight. It's got an elder flower hint to it, if you've ever tried St. Germaine liquor...This is more of a novelty than an art. It's YOUNG 3 years and 47%..made for mixing with seltzer and lemon or cranberry lime. $69.99
    https://www.stgeorgespirits.com/spirits/baller-whiskey/

And the of course the old standard. Oban 14 It's perfect... on special at the mom and pop.. $69

I've seen St George Baller around here, but for a lot more. A buddy of mine likes it, I’ve never tried it though

They had it in the "Don't steal me" case at Wegmans here so I thought I'd give it a try...It was either $69 or $79 but nothing prohibitive...Inexpensive enough for me to try...It's going to be around for a while and offered to every guest :)

Haha I've called this Safeway on multiple occasions asking if it's legit. Unfortunately, it's a stocking error.
I used to pass that Safeway everyday before moving to Sac.

"You again sir...NO we don't have any..."

You should call corporate and ask what the issue is with inventory...is there a lot of theft?

cracked open my two newest acquisitions. 1835 is a local brand distilled in Ky, and this is their Limited Release Single Barrel at 100prf. I've had 1835 before, and it wasn't anything to speak of, but this SB is pretty good.

Second is a "slummin'" choice that I had read was quite good, Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond 100prf. It's not quite as good as my other cheapy favorite, OGD114, but it definitely punches above it's weight. A $13 bottle that is closer to a $30 bottle.

For fight night last Saturday, I picked up a John J Bowman single barrel that was pretty good, not quite as good as 1835, but hard to judge on a couple days' difference.

Haha that’s good to know. I figured it was an error but tried to get my brother to drive the 30 minutes to see

It's a little spicy, sweet/fruity and creamy finish. It's pretty darn good. But... the first bottle I tried I thought would end up a drain pour after opening and trying it. Yuck. So it sat on the shelf for a month before I decided to try it again. Wow, what a difference! Very tasty. So now when I pick up a bottle I open it then let it sit for a month of so. This is the only bottle I've had that has been this extreme.

Edit to add; the scotch I was referring to was the Dalwhinnie 15. Redbreast is an Irish pot still whiskey.
