Yeah that burn...I felt like I was trying whiskey for the 1st time again with that stuff. I wouldn't drink it neat. So much vanilla in it, in a good way tho

Just cracked a bottle of Redemption Bourbon for the first time...I'm uh, well, uhmm. Disappointed. It's 76% corn mash...the initial taste hit, for me, comes across with a scotch feel. I dislike scotch.

    Back to my Eagle Rare!

I got a bottle of Booker's as a gift. I have enjoyed it. Like mentioned above, higher alcohol content so be careful.

I had a few in mind when I went to BevMo, Noah's Mill, Booker's as well as Willett. After talking to one of the guys there I decided on Booker's. Willett was an unknown while he wasn't enthusiastic about Noah's Mill. I cracked it open for a whiff and it smells great. I'll find out tonight how it tastes...

I'm really liking the cask strength whiskeys/bourbons. You can add a bit of water to get a taste that suits you, and it does bring out more flavors. I'm getting to the point where I need to empty a few bottles before I add more stock, but it's addicting trying all these different tastes!

Nah, you just need a bigger liquor closet. Make it a walk in!

Got a taste of this Four Roses 50th anniversary at one of my favorite local watering holes. If you spot a bottle of this around I highly recommend giving it a go.

Worth picking up for sure! Some of my favorite in that upper/middle of the road price point that's readily available. The single barrel is great! Bottle is small though so it goes quick! Small batch is nice too but Id'd spend the extra for the single. Look for OESQ written on the side it's generally the whiskey lovers top pick.

*edit OESK is of secondary awesomeness!

Old fashion with Jim beam :bananadance:

    292EBD60-ADF2-4BD4-A0B6-C51C7EFBE0DB.jpg

Jim beam is sweet enough and I don’t mind using it to mix.

Otherwise I like my whiskey neat/with a drop of water.
