Indeed if we're getting out of the whiskey bourbon flavours, I'd go with a good quality gin and tonic.

Maybe a sapphire and Sam pellegrino

Thanks all for the ideas. Submitted to the lead trainer.

Y’all should check out Blade and Bow (~$47), Widow Jane (~$70), Widow Jane 12yr (~90), and Hancock’s Reserve (~$50, if you can get your hands on it). All bourbons, Widow Jane and Hancock’s are my favorites, but Blade and Bow is right up there with em. Hancock’s is the reject barrels of Pappy and comes out of the Buffalo Trace distillery, recently became really hard to find after getting in Wine Spectator or something. Blade and Bow comes from the original Weller distillery and each bottle comes with 1 of 5 keys (the keys to making bourbon), once you collect all 5 and send them in (or prove that you have them, can’t remember) they will send you something to display them.

....and my normal everyday (and favorite) drink is Jameson (yeah I know it’s a blend), black barrel is my favorite among all their offerings.

I am right there with you on the Jameson for a daily. I was and still am real bummed about the 12 year disappearing, but the black barrel is quite good for the money. I need to get another bottle after finishing mine this weekend.

Gentleman Jack is my daily but I try to buy a new bourbon or something every 2 weeks or so. Blade and Bow and Buffalo Trace have been my personal favorites

I've been eyeing that Willet Pot Still bourbon for some time. How'd you like it?

The High West... Is that American Prairie? (If you haven't, read up on how the proceeds from that bottle benefit American Prairie Reserve in Montana, great cause close to my heart!)

It is, I actually saw your post a few pages back about it. I pulled up the website on my ipad but didn't have a chance to read it

Gonna check it out when I get home tonight though

Edit: Oh, and it was a gift from my brother in law, so I wouldn't have known anything about it if you hadn't mentioned it

I’ve tried a couple of the bottles from High West, and they’re definitely one of my favorites.

vanilla and citrus is highly noticeable in the taste and somewhat sweet but is rather smooth and a little dry oak taste on the finish but over all very tasty. I received this as a gift but I would buy it again..
