My buddy grabbed these for me for my birthday. Said he was going to get me one big bottle but thought I'd rather have a few of the smaller bottles. He was right .

Love Bulleit rye! My go to when at the bar. You will notice if you look on the back of the bottle that it is produced in Indiana at a factory where a lot of these “new” yet somehow “old” bourbon and rye whiskey’s are coming from and is in fact not made in Bulleit county distillery that the bourbon is made in. Also from what I understand it’s pretty much the same mash bill as Templeton, made at the same facility, just bottled at a higher proof. Lots of smoke and mirrors in the whiskey/spirts game at the moment.

I'm not a big fan of the Bulleit Rye. I normally go for the bourbon. But I'll damn sure still drink it.

I'm fully on board with Rye! Love the spicy notes in a good whiskey.

image.jpg Picked this up yesterday! Comes from the Willet Distillery. The store I got it from was only given 6 and it was the last one, might hold onto it for awhile

I like finds like that. I just did a search for my area and the Total Wine store has them. Great reviews, one even notes it's hard to find and goes quickly when it's in stock. Wonder how long before they sell out...

Picked up a Bulleit as it’s our go-to mixing bourbon. Saw this? Anyone have a report?

Interesting. The only review I could find was from someone who is a friend of the owners. Wonder if they are really new or so small it's hard to get a bottle?

I don’t really like when friends/family post reviews. They’re biased... but it still may be worth a try.

I missed that. Too bad it’s in Las Vegas and I’m 2 hours north...

I checked out their website. They don't distill the whisky, they blend whisky from other distillers then bottle it. I don't think there's anything wrong with that, there seems to be a fair amount of that happening in the industry (google MGP Ingredients). I would be curious to give it a try!

I'll have to keep an eye out for this. I've tried quite a few over the years, but always seem to end up back at JB black.

I am a fan of all whiskeys! I stick to either Jameson, Bulleit, or Monkey Shoulder depending on whether I’m hankering for Irish, Bourbon, or Scotch. I would have to say my favorite bourbon is probably Buffalo Trace whole my favorite scotch is probably Ardbeg. Both are modestly priced and fantastic. Although I did just pick up this Aberlour Highland Scotch that is finished in Sherry barrels and is fantastic but a little pricey for every day.

Anyone notice how the taste changes after a bottle has been open for some time? I've found every bottle I've opened went through a significant taste change after about 2 weeks or so. Most went from great to not so good. The only ones that actually got better was Glenmorangie Lasanta and Bookers. All others went steeply downhill, to the point I'm only interested in drinking it to get rid of it. My Angles Envy rye and WhistlePig rye went from my favorites to blah.

I think going forward I'm only going to have 2 or so bottles open at a time.

    Have not noticed this.
Are you leaving them corked/capped, or putting the little bar spouts in them?
