Agree. The 12 year in the background was a BevMo store pick and I had some kind of coupon that knocked it down to a reasonable price that I couldn't pass up. Too much money for me at normal retail.

Not that anyone's asking, but when prices are shitting the bed is when you want to *buy*.

I dropped a nice chunk in today because things dropped low enough.

The few stocks I own outright are at all time highs (mostly). I need to look at my funds, they may be down much further than I realize and therefore I missed the chance.

Anyway, back to your regularly scheduled alcohol programming…

Agreed. Not the focus of this thread at all but being in for the long haul means dollar cost averaging. The power of compound interest is amazing. Buy every week or every other, however you want no matter what. But buy, buy ETF’s that mirror the Dow or S&P. Look up how Buffet got rich, it’s not a fast process. It’s boring and slow and not Instagram Sexy, but you’ll be rich. And Weller at secondary will be nothing to you. Anyone can do it. It just takes time and consistently.

    Hah, bull.

Without getting into detail, we're in as good a spot as we need to be and theres no fucking way Im paying 2 grand for a bottle of whiskey that doesn't blow me at least twice. That's thinking for poors, not pours.

To add though, at the risk of dragging us completely off topic:

I will spend absolutely stupid amounts of money on guns I don't even need.

So maybe I need to shut up. Lol.

Popped the peerless. I’ll reevaluate later after this “neck pour” as it wasn’t great. Not a bad flavor profile, just a bit harsh imo. So I went to the ol standby Bowman Bros and finished that bottle…

I wouldn’t pay secondary (or shipping) for anything. My last bottle of Buffalo Trace cost me $20 two weeks ago.

Hell yes. I have 2 bottles of Hakushu 12 squirreled away. They stopped making it a few years ago and I had 2, but cracked one open with a friend a few weeks ago. We have another couple over every 1st Sat of the month and he and I make dinner for the swimbos. He's recently gotten into the brown stuff so we each share something. He is into peated scotch but I introduced him to Japanese, and he's loving it. Right after we opened the Hakushu I wondered into Total Wine and they had the new (limited) release on the shelf, so I grabbed one. The price has gone crazy and I don't think I'd buy another one...

I do have a lot of Japanese, but I only buy them when I see them at low retail. That usually means Total Wine or BevMo (BevMo is more $ but they'll price match TW). This is some of my Japanese collection...

Everyone needs one harsh bottle though. Sometimes you want to fight your drink or maybe clean brake parts on your car.

I keep High West Prairie Bourbon on hand for when I hate myself. You might as well drink flaming cinnamon with your eyes.

Lol that’s true, I was gifted American prairie when I first got into bourbon and was like ok, so this is what it tastes like. Then I realized how burny it was in comparison to others

Ran into an interesting bourbon the other day, Wheat Penny, from a distillery in my home town. Might be fun to try.

Hahaha. I didn’t mean WLW, more like Weller SR or 107…. I was being cheeky and that wasn’t necessarily directed to you. I agree thousands is crazy… for bourbon. Now your gun fetish. Maybe you’re my brother from another mother. I got it way worse for guns than bourbon lol.

That's much lower than retail (which is nuts). Can't say if it's worth $103, but you'll never see it that low anywhere (is it at the PX?).
