Favorite Whiskey?

FWIW I’ve only seen Weller SR and standard Buffalo Trace for sale at the distillery. I bought Weller but they only allow one bottle per 6 months and the scan your ID into the computer to prevent multiples. Definitely did not see 107.

 

Do they sell Blanton’s at the distillery?

 

Ah hahahaha…. No…

they only sell the absolute basics. The times I have been there, including during Covid there were lines of 100’s of people.. if they sold anything super allocated it would be gone immediately. As far as I know they don’t even sell Eagle Rare on site. I mean, I won’t say it’s not worth looking for but as far as I know it’s BT or SR if your lucky. Oh and Bourbon Cream (my wife likes this actually) If I remember the website does have some specifics about what’s offered. Still a super cool visit!

I do have some friends on another board that we’re JUST in KY for bourbon. I’ll shoot out a message over there and see what they saw at BT.

That’s awesome! I’ve only seen some basics there but if you’re lucky to be there on a Blantons, EH Taylor, or Weller day that’s amazing! Guess I’d just buy whatever the bourbon of the day was unless it’s Sezerac Rye, I can buy that anytime.

 

I've been reading the last few pages and with all the talk about Weller I thought I'd just leave this here.

 

That was back when they had a listed age statement wasn’t it? Nice!!! Oh yeah right there on the neck. 7 years. New bottles are non-age stated.

 

I've had it for 28 yrs, it was bottled by the original W.L. Weller and Sons before they were bought out. Honestly, I can't tell you why I've never broken the seal on it. Ive thought about selling it but not really sure how to go about doing that.

My guess is that’s worth 1-2 grand at auction.

If it was pristine with all the original packaging, twice that.

 

Cynicalrider, I don't believe mine would fetch quit that much, that bottle was a 1977 year, i think mine was bottled in 94. Pretty sure that what the stamp on the bottom of the bottle indicates.

Hook87, I think your probably in line with its value. I'll tell you this, the first person that offers me $1,000 can have it.

I'm not sure how they arrived at this valuation as they don't list any prior sales. I thjnk this is way lower than it would actually sell for.
