Favorite Whiskey?

Thank you. My wife snagged the cabinet for free from a lawyers office and I wired the lights. I agree a proper cabinet is essential to a good collection. Thanks for the kind words it’s a collection I am quite proud of. Been a lot of years in the making.

 

Where did you find the 1792 sweet wheat?

 

Not that it would help you, but it’s NOT my normal store, I went into a local shop and they had one bottle behind the counter, they told me they got two in and some one else bought the first one saying how much they loved it, but they only bought the one. I of course bought the other, $50 for the bottle. I would have bought a case if they had it.

 

How is it?

 

So that bottle isn’t open. I have had it in the past and found it to be excellent! It’s weird. I don’t want to say I’m influenced by others but in the past I could pretty much buy whatever but in the past couple years things are VERY scarce…. I don’t have an open bottle so I’m sort of waiting on a reason to open this one. I can’t imagine it’s different than past bottles which are very very good. Just very hard to find the past year or two.

 

Get me one then, pretty please! Tried it when I was in Gatlinburg visiting friends. I get the reason why it’s sought after.

Honestly no. I have two bottles already but at $55 a bottle I’d have a lot more.

 

Forgive me if I’ve told this story before, but speaking of lots of bottles @$55…

The largest military installation in my area is about an hour away so I don’t go often and peruse like I do at the exchanges that are closer.

Had a medical appointment nearby about a month ago so I went ahead and dipped in afterwards. The manager there said they’d gotten in 72 bottles of Blanton’s and a case of Stagg. The Stagg was gone right away, it took two days for the word to get out about the Blantons and it was gone too. Except for the smallest one, the exchanges are sick and tired of keeping a call list and aren’t doing it any more.

 

Sometimes dreams really do come true.
