Kind of excited, one product I’d had trouble finding and wanted to try with the wife is the Buffalo Trace Cream. Got my hands on a bottle today.

All this talk of Weller SR, it’s definitely my summer go to with ice as well…but there’s no way I’m paying over $35 for it. It’s insane how much people charge for it, then again it was $20 all day long a couple years ago…

Edit: I would pay $200 for the W12, it’s probably the best bourbon I’ve ever had

The BT products hype is probably the most annoying thing in bourbon right now. That's how you end up with doofballs like Robert Parker claiming Blanton's is "either a brilliant master blend or a bourbon with some serious age", even though it is....neither.

    http://blog.wineandcheeseplace.com/2013/05/robert-parker-bourbon-reviews-yes-it-is.html?m=1

BT products original claim to fame was the amazing value: A $25 bottle of BT was tastier than its pricetag. Then Pappy blew up and everyone wants stuff from the same distillery, so now its 45ish on secondary. Yay.

I can still get BT for $25…

Agree that the BT products’ demand has gotten silly, blame the Pappy and 15-20 years of awards.

What are your top 3 under $100?

Hmmm...favorites are tough, but probably Blantons Single Barrel (Im assuming we're going on MSRP prices), Four Roses Single Barrel, and Widow Jane 10 year.

Top 3 under $50 is even more fun :)

We're in West Lafayette for a relatives college graduation, staying in an AirBB. Got in late the other night, stopped at walgreens for a few things and this was least objectionable. Turns out, it's decent.6629F91D-CD78-4C9D-BEC4-5884E6A60A9B.jpg

I came across a Widow Jane 10 in Nevada and probably should’ve bought it.

    Ok top 3 under $50…go!

Been awhile since I had a pour of Buffalo Trace, I’d been too busy amassing it and trying some other things. Having one now. It really is great for an everyday sipper.

Oh no, you gotta show me yours first. Top 3 under 100?

You may already know this, but a few good inhalations with a sip in-mouth opens it up even more, at least when drinking neat. It really is a marvel for an under-30 bottle.

Ok that’s fair. So far I’ve only enjoyed two labels between $50 and $100: Makers Cask Strength and Knob Creek 12.

My dad in law likes the wheated Rebel, we just bought him a 1.75 for Father’s Day.

I hope it makes it intact all the way to June. No promises.

While not my most favorite, it makes a pretty good old fashioned.

Tonight’s bottle. Got a little baseball rivalry game so we are drinking for our teams. A double is a shot, triple is a shot and finish your beer and a home run is a double shot. Go dodgers!!!
