Favorite Whiskey?

Do you. I'm just saying I'll bet their motivation is sales well above all the "unique opportunity" brouhaha.

What grocery carries that?!

 

It’s a cool story and I tried it because of it. But…..it’s not my favorite and IMHO it’s not worth the price.

 

Scots fishing with Scotch

Angus, Jock, and Duncan went fishing yesterday.

Here's what happened:

The three started fishing early in the morning but after only a short time they ran out of worms. Then Angus saw a snake about to swallow a frog.
Frog parts are good bait for bass.

Knowing the snake couldn't bite him with the frog in his mouth; Jock grabbed it right behind the head. He then freed the frog and put it in the bait bucket.

Now the dilemma was how to release the snake without getting bit.

Duncan grabbed his flask of Edradour Single Malt Scotch Whisky he always carries and poured a little into the snake’s mouth. The snake’s eyes rolled back, he went limp, and Jock was able to release him into the lake without incident. They all carried on fishing – now using the frog.

A little later, Duncan felt a nudge on his ghillie brogues. It was that same snake… with two more frogs.

 

This is the only thing I've ever learned about Scotland:

 

Love Edradour! That distillery would be one I'd have on a list to visit if I ever make it over there. Smallest (or fewest employees) distillery in Scotland? Can't remember...

 

I agree - it is my very favorite!
I have been to the distillery in Scotland. Was my first taste of Edradour and I've been hooked since.
It is the smallest "legal" distillery in Scotland. They make in one year what Glenfiddich makes in a week. "Legal" has to be called out because there are smaller private stills around, i.e. Moonshiners.

Taking the tour is an absolute must when you're in country!

 

Was killing time at wegmans last week and picked this up based on the proof. Had not seen it in any other stores before. Time will tell.

 

When you walk into BevMo and the whiskey section guy says I got a box for you today…

I just got two Blantons and an EHT small batch from my local BevMo yesterday. Walked in and got lucky

 

I am also in Cali way south of you but I go every Thursday because that’s the day they get the allocated stuff at my store and it has payed off greatly.

 

Virginia recently revamped their "limited release" items. Previously if a truck was coming in you could wait outside the ABC store 30 minutes to an hour before opening & you were able to purchase one of every limited release item they had in stock. Now they randomly send out an email stating a "limited release" has occurred & name off all the stores with the items. The problem is you have no idea what items they have. The other issue is you're only allowed to purchase one item from the limited release. So if you're lucky enough to get there before they sellout (usually an hours or less) & they have Buffalo Trace & Weller's on the shelf you can only pick one, not one of each. Frustrating!

 

Starting to get hot out. Time for icy, easy drinking bourbon

 

Had yesterday off to go to some doctor appointments….of course I took a little drive
