Favorite Whiskey?

We have a local liquor store attached to a gas station that sells at MSRP (or close to it). He tells me that got some new bourbon in. I'm hesitant sometimes because I know so much bourbon is sourced from MGP or others. So it's hard sometimes to try something new. But I have gotten Angel's Envy, Redemption wheated bourbon and Remdemption rye. All were just ok to me. Although I do want to try Redemption high rye bourbon There's some others there that I can't remember the names of right now. Just like tequila with additives, I'm tired of these BS bourbon stories just to sell an MGP whiskey at a higher price.

But Im a part time healthcare worker who takes the weekends, so I have the week free which means I get to jump the trucks and get the good stuff before everyone else clocks out.

 

Got my haircut right down from the liquor store, so figured hell, why not. Have not tried the single barrel FR yet but have heard good things.

 

I always keep a bottle. Try it when you're in the mood for sweet. And be ready for the nose.

 

Not my whole work day just someone’s hahah. I’ll be off in three hours and ready to go when the truck is unloaded.

 

Anyone here ever have Yellow Rose? It's a Texas whiskey. Got a bottle a couple years ago and remembered enjoying it but haven't seen it since.

 

What are you drinking? i am looking for something new that i could try.

I’ve got a conference call at 1:30 then after that I think I’ll take a late lunch and go bottle hunting myself.

 

I have had it before. Visited my uncle in TX a couple years back and he brought it to the table. I did enjoy it.
I have never seen it out the store outside TX.

 

Not only did I not find anything worth buying today I got the total wine email saying I wasn’t selected for a bottle in the grand reserve raffle. Guess it’s time to pour a drink.

 

The bourbon giveth, and the bourbon taketh away. Maybe you need to lower your standards/expectations.

Nothing in particular. Something new or interesting

 

My local stores have two or three end caps where they put new or interesting bourbons. One that was on there that has been tempting is Wyoming Whiskey.

 

Have you tried the Larceny? I keep seeing it but haven’t tried yet.

 

It’s one of my favorites. Great sipper.

 

Good to hear especially at the low price

 

It’s the best value there is, except for maybe Buffalo Trace at retail price. Pick one up and post your thoughts.
