Buddy of mine was able to grab this for me. Nearly impossible to get here in PA, so yeah, I'm excited

 

Passed up a bottle of Garrison Bros small batch at the ABC for $90. The word “leather” was in the first review I read. I like wheated bourbon but I don’t enjoy leather.

 

I'm becoming a picky bitch about unknowns. Red flags I watch for:

- Distilled and bottled in different places.
- No distillery information provided at all.
- "Distillery" only exists as a company (e.g. Black Maple Hill).
- "Very old" in the description with no age statement (e.g Jefferson's Reserve).
- Gimmicks (e.g. Jefferson's Ocean).

None of these is an immediate disqualification (I actually like Jefferson's Reserve), but they immediately make me suspicious.

Reviews I've all but given up on. Nothing ever gets below 2.5 stars or 6/10 and I really don't want to spend 5 paragraphs reading about Flavorcebo.

I've been looking for a bottle of this for some time. You CAN buy it on line for a ridiculous markup over regular retail, but I didn't want to do it. Never seen one locally, but I found a single bottle listed at a BevMo 20 min away. Bought it online a few days ago and drove up to get it today. When I got there I spied another on the shelf, so I grabbed that one as well.

 

A/C is acting up. Time for a couple pours. Let’s go with Rye.

 

I like the BT rye. A lot of people poopoo it, not I.

 

I do too, it’s better than the next Rye pour of the night which isn’t too bad itself.

best deal right now is the rebel 80 proof for 13.99, such a steal

 

Opened it up to celebrate a work achievement with a few colleagues this afternoon and its just ok for me.. a tad dry, but no complaints. The story is better than the bourbon.

 

It is a cool story! I’ve thought about streaming the movie, but haven’t had the time. Oddly enough as I’m trying different bourbons I keep coming back to this bottle.

 

Any Harbor Freight involved on this bottle run?

 

I appreciate that! I've been told deliveries are Tuesdays and Fridays for the Premium stores in the York area. Mostly Fridays it seems. I call just about every week, the employees there get super annoyed haha
